Wedding Again

08 July must be a good day to get married....

Besides my BIL's wedding, I rushed to my bestie fren wedding on the same day. Luckily, hers was in the afternoon. The bride will only be ready at 12.30pm as we were told and so I gathered the wolveys to 'fall in' below her block at 1.00pm so that we won't create a mad rush to see the bride and the groom.....

We helped ourselves to the food and yummy 'kuehs' and dessert while the bride and groom were busy taking pictures with friends and relatives at the dai. When we are about to move over to see the bride, the pair is about to leave ! Very Very fast, we thought.... & so, we ended up taking pictures along the corridor of the void deck, under the hot sun ! But we felt like superstars coz there were so many cameras clicking away at the same time. Wow ! My own wedding also never got so much attention leh.....

And we managed to see the bride and groom marching off to their parked vehicle, with kon pangs and a contingent of people following behind them... But my dear bestie was frowning so hard that she looked as if she is being forced to marry the groom.....


ha ha ha ...... and so she is finally smiling happily. But poor her....... I think he head must at least be 1 Kg heavier that day. As she talked to us without big movement, the accessories on her head 'ding dang' non-stop.

By the way, did you realise the groom is not smiling in both pictures..... Haiz, looks like it is the bride is forcing the groom to marry here.... stress !!!! Ha ha ha ha

MIL

MIL = mum / mother in law..... BIL = brother in law..... FIL = father in law

I am pretty amazed by my MIL when I look thru my wedding pictures and realised my MIL was enjoying taking pics at the ballroom foyer after the banquet.

It was until 1 month later at the wedding banquet of Alvin's youngest bro's wedding that I realised she was named Cai Qin lookalike during my wedding banquet....

In fact, Amy the make up artist who was also tasked to do the make up and hairdo for my MIL is very stressed doing up my MIL then for the bride ! Haa haa haa.... Bcoz MIL told her she doesn't want aunty aunty look and must be modern...... She wanted to look young and modern...

Ta ta ........ so this is Cai Qin lookalike on 3 June.....

An so, 1 month later, on 8 July..... Amy got stressed again coz she is doing up my MIL again for my BIL's wedding. She have to change her hairstyle WITHOUT comprising MIL's request of young and modern.... so what do we have ?

As my 2nd BIL put it..... 'La Ma' (hot mum) and looks like You Ya. Must be some 70s or 80s female singer which I have no idea how the singer looks like.... MIL was so happy that she snapped so many pictures in the bridal suite already.... so you can imagine how many pictures were snapped at the banquet itself....... haa.....

My FIL just shook his head and mumbled..... 'what You Ya......You Tiao more like it'..... and shook his head more....

And so, allow me to resent you You Ya lookalike !

Good Contacts to Share

A lot of efforts were put in to put the whole wedding together and I didn't have a package - all ala carte, I need a lot of referrals, word-of-mouth recommendation, friendship or just luck that help me to manage to put everything into place.

There is so far no setback and I am more than 100% satisfied from what I have planned for both of us.

I didn't want to buy my wedding gown in the first place. I went to see a number of bridal studios and renting one is at an unbelievable amount. For that cost, I can actually buy 2 at the boutique where I bought my gown...

It's off the rack piece of gown. For every design, there's only 3 pieces and in S, M, L only. When it's gone, it's gone forever. I know about this boutique some time back but doesn't know they sell such affordable gown until Alvin's cousin told me. This piece that I bought was priced at S$699. During my purchase, there was some credit card promo going on and I brought home the gown at $594 !!!!

I got no intention to tailor-made my evening gown after a visit to another Bridal Studio which I set my eyes on a german lace fushia pink gown. It gonna cost me $1200 to rent ! And after a by chance passing by this seamstress's shop. I decided to scout for similar material and make my own evening gown at a fraction of that rental price. Worksmanship for this pink gown ? $420.

I wanted a cheongsam type of tea dress but not the old fashion design.. Scouting this can really kills me until fi asked me to try Empire.... Indeed, within 10 minutes I decided to buy this $199. A lilac cheongsam inpsired one. And it was only until I tried it on, then I realised it's the same as Fi's 'bom bom' dress ! But for me, no way for braless, not enough to bom the dress and so spend $$ to buy a wonder bra....

You like my makeup ? From a word-of-mouth recommendation & turn out to be cousin of my dearie 'Lao Niang'.....

Not forgetting our handsome Sam ! The other Emcee for the evening. Fi & him can just hit it off so well that they just rehearsed that evening at 5.45pm, deciding who to do the mandarin or english script... & carried out the show at ZERO hiccups !

Sam was so good that he immediately caught the eye of my mum-in-law and wanted to engage him to be the emcee for my bro-in-law's wedding ! But unfortunately, Sammy is busy with work and have to decline the offer.

Jie Meis aka helpers for the day !

They are just simply needed for the bride for every single reasons from holding the gown, feeding you water, holding mirror, fanning u, carry your things and YES ! collecting yr ang baos during tea ceremony and guarding all your ang baos and gold jewellery like a hawk ! And all these help from friends, PRICELESS......

And these flowers for the car. Fresh purple and lilac flowers on the bonnet of the bridal car. Seriously, I have no idea who did this. My 'ang' gamely took up this job ONLY out of a thousands tasks needed to settle for the wedding. Why ? Becoz one of his frens got lobang to make this.....

And we paid..... $228 for the bridal cars & 2 Jie Mei cars.

And who supply all these flowers ? Hand bouquet to corsages and flowers on my head .... My darling fren who has a skill for these.... She can customise to suit your request or match your gown... And not only that it just suit your personality as well..... She did my hand bouquet for my ROM that made my mum-in-law talks about it until now... her BIG orchid corsage for my parents-in-law mage my mum-in-law so happy too. And I paid for the cost of the flowers only. The worksmanship into putting all together..... PRICELESS....

If you like something different that normally florist or bridal studio cannot offer..... check my friend out..... Let me know and I'll give you the contact.

Any oh yes, not forgetting the person who capture down all these wonderful memories.... a strong recommendation for Sunny who supposed to be the one doing the photography.... Ms Vivien....... and I paid a friendship price which cannot be disclosed... But her normal rate is $800 for a full day wedding event for unlimited digital shots without print. More services can be provided at different rates..... If you like to hire her to be your photographer, let me know and I more glad to pass her contact on.... I seconded Sunny, she's real good.

And my video montages if you have watched them, specially done up by my good fren, Sunny.... It's PRICELESS again, but he charges reasonably if you like to have one done up, for whatever occasion you can think of.... let me know and I'll link you both...

Compliment Email

Wah, it's almost 3 weeks i haven't touch my blog...... no good no good.... well, actually hor... I haven't completed my updates on my wedding & so I'm going to plastered them all over today & tomorrow....

I wrote a compliment email to the hotel about 1 week after the banquet and I was surprised the GM did wrote back despite my email was sent to him while he is on a family vacation ! That's the service and attitude of a 5* hotel .... this is what I wrote...

First of all, I would like to extend my congratulations to you for having a wonderful team of employees who had put together such a wonderful and memorable banquet for my husband and me on the evening of June 3rd, 2007.

I was attracted to the inclusions that P P has put together for the wedding package at P Ballroom. Highlights of the package which I personally think you have a winning edge over the rest of the hotels (of same category) are the 2 nights' stay in the Bridal Suite, complimentary printing of the wedding cards and the 45 minutes 'live' musical string trio.

My first point of contact with P P was with Mr T. He has been very patient and polite with both of us, especially my husband, A, who sometimes will make ridiculous suggestions during discussion. He is also very responsible where he will always inform me when he is on leave and let me know another point of contact if I need to look for during his absence. A very Big Thank to him and his team for coordinating the logistic required for the wedding.

Also I would like to extend my thank you to K, the Banquet Manager for the evening, K2, the Events Manager and assigned personal butler to us for the evening too, and to the dedicated team of waiters and waitress who has put up very good service (which is seriously lacking at home here) that impress many guests. Not forgetting the AV technicians too. They have managed to coordinate everything so smoothly within such a short notice and ensure no hicupps during the entire evening. Both K and team are so obliging to some of my requests at the last minute and I am very surprised and glad to know later on (from the guests) that they did more than what I have expected, more much than the guests have expected too ! K2 too, was always around us and springing into action so quickly whenever he is needed.

A big applause to the all chefs from HTL, kitchen assistants and helpers for putting together such a wonderful banquet. All the guests that both of us had spoken to have no negative comments on the food. In fact, I was told by many that this is the best banquet they have ever attended at a hotel. The feedback was, the menu for the evening was unique, with more than enough portion for everyone. Most of the guests enjoyed the food thoroughly that evening.

I have also fill in the online survey which I will not elaborate further here.

I would like to make some suggestions here which you may wish to consider.

Perhaps, P P can arrange for some tone of voice speaking workshop for the most frontline employees so that they know what tone to use to speak to the guests. Wrong tone of voice used to speak the same sentence of words could be very different meaning and may annoy the guests. I have encountered this in less than 30 minutes after check in which is really not such a pleasure and I hope future guests will not encounter the same incident as me. I have since feedback to T, K and K2 on the same day that early evening.

As we are throwing a chinese banquet, it makes sense to have chinese characters of the dishes shown on the menu cards that will be placed at each table that day. I was sort of upset and puzzled when I was told that P P couldn't do it despite there are chinese characters of the dishes stated in the contract that we signed.

Overall, our guests and ourselves had such a wonderful time that evening and we will definitely recommend P P as an ideal hotel to throw wedding events.

I look forward to working with P P again for events (not wedding definitely !) in the near future.

Once again, our sincere thanks to everyone who has put in that effort (big or small) to make our wedding banquet and stay memorable and successful. And also, thank you for your attention to have read this long feedback.

P P has as it's primary mission the delivery of service that is personalized and tailored to each guest's requirements; that experience is really all about the people and hence the name badge that we all wear (which you may have noticed) that includes the Associates name and the statement "I am Pan P".............. A great deal of emphasis goes into encouraging empowerment and "having fun"..................I think it's all these things that creates such a uniqueness in our Associates.

Thank you also for recognizing the many "stars" we have with us that make P P what it is. Genevieve and her team do a great job! I dun normally write compliments ad if I write, it will not be long. But this time, I decided to put in more effort and complimented the people who really deserve especially in the service industry. With a little encouragement, it will boast their morale and work satifaction further. These people will service their clients even more with an open heart and more sincerity. Bringing happiness to everyone, whther u are the reciivng one or the giving one.

Member ?

I am always puzzled when aunties, uncles or even young boys or gals standing behind the MacDonald's counters asking this question whenever you are about to pay for the purchase.

'Member ?'

'No'. This is what I usually replied plainly and simply. I didn't even bother to ask how to become one and the MacDonald's staff also don't bother to explain how to be a member or ask me to be a member.

So today, I decided to ask.

As usual after my purchase of a hot fudge sundae (yummy !), the boy asked me,

'Member ?'

'No'

He took my money and I asked,

'How to be member?'

He just smiled sheepishly and gave me back my change. While keeping the money back into my wallet, I asked again,

'So, to be member, you must be a student is it?'


And the answer from the boy was ...................................






'YES'




Ai yo ! From my look and dressing, I can never look like a student oready mah (maybe Feifei still can pass off as one), then why they bother to ask all the time?

Haiz.....must be the order from Mac management and all of them just follow instruction - blindly.

Honeymoon - Prelude

1 week after the wedding, we have chosen Malacca as the moon to pick our honey. It was to get away for a relaxation weekend in fact.

I only remembered Malacca very vaguely and this is actually the 3rd time I'm there. The 1st time I was there, was with my secondary mates during sec 3 or 4 (I can't remember). It was a school trip as we were studying history of S.E.A at that time. The 2nd time was with Alvin & family. The focus of the trip is actually Water World with a short stopover at Malacca.

This time, I really got more time to enjoy this town. While the famous red church was one of the famous historical building ....

...... I've set my eyes on this quiet like church just outside the border of the historical site. It's called Church of Francis Xavier and it was built in the 1800s.

Initially we wanted to have lunch at the famous Malacca's chicken rice ball. The so-called most original one was located near a bridge housed inside a old coffeeshop. However, we gave up because :
1) we had to find our own seats
2) all the workers there seem to have a 'million dollar' face, they don't answer you promptly when you ask a question.

In the end, we decided to walk down Jonker Street and decided to just eat anything we walked past. As we walked, we realised there are so many shops selling the famous chicken rice ball. We walked into this one that attracted us to its decor, for Alvin, he is most happy as it is air-conditioned. Malacca was just simply too hot !

The decor was so pretty and it creates a very nice ambience. The weather was just simply too unbearable that we retreated back to our hotel to rest before we headed put for dinner and enjoy the Pasar Malam at Jonker Street.

We stayed at Bayview Hotel and the view from our room overlooks the Straits of Malacca.

We wanted to settle our dinner at one of the chinese restaurants. After a 2 rounds of driving, making out the roads in Malacca, we gave up. All the chinese restaurants we could find were having a wedding banquet ! We were amazed and thought was last Saturday a very auspicious day for weddings.

In the end, we had our dinner at a 'zhi cha' stall in a coffeeshop - just opposite our hotel :<

The food was good and its famous dish is the Fresh Milk Crab. We ordered the crab, pork ribs, vegetables, 'big head' and steamed promfret. The uncle who took our order told us the wait is not long but we actually waited for almost 30 mins ! Probably, their 'not long' is a min. wait for 30 mins. Ha ha ha....

Anyway, we finished all the food as we were dammed hungry. The bill came and I was quite surprised and I think we had been chopped. The bill is RM 140 for 2 of us with 5 dishes. I find the place we had the dinner & the portion of the food does not equate the price we paid.

As we brought quite limited cash, after paying for the dinner, both of us ended up with RM12. Ha ha ha..... we have never been so broke before on our holiday. Even during our poorest time, we still can't afford to spend $$ to buy things we liked during the holiday. But this time, we felt we are so poor and I don't even dare to buy a RM 8 clock that I liked at one of the stalls at the pasar malam.

We walked the rest of the evening admiring the stuffs but without buying anything. Ha ha ! It's so unlike me !

However, we still managed to fetch home a few t-shirts at the factory outlet store and the reject shop at a good bargain. Malacca have 2 mega mall, 1 called the Mahkota which was the 1st modern looking mall in Malacca. The other one was opened quite recently which carries more labels, local and overseas. Interestingly, this new mall was built on a piece of massive land, yet they do it 1 level only, same like Mahkota. Wondering does it have to do with the religion or feng shui if the Malaysian authorities believe in. Or just simply their way of doing things ??? We were RM 70 richer the next day when the hotel gave us back the deposit the next day.

Malacca was an interesting town and it is a good destination if you decided to drive there, enough for 2 days 1 night get away, with time for relaxation yet enough things to keep you occupied.

Pan Pacific Hotel

I've get to stay in a hotel suite before and this is one of the reasons why I choose Pan Pac to hold my wedding. Usually, hotel will throw in a night's stay for the bridal couple but Pan Pac is giving 2 nights. It's so excited. I'm going to stay at a hotel suite for 2 nights !

The suite room consist of a dining area and a living room area.

Then followed by a big king size bed,

a working desk with an enogromic (correct spelling?) chair, and definitely not to mention the BIG bathroom that consists of a walk in wardrobe....

The whole suite room was lit up with warm (orange) lights which cast the room with a hint of romantic, relaxed mood. But this is not really me coz I like my room to be bright, bright and bright. Luckily the room has ceiling to floor glass panel that natural light can come into the room thus making the room looks happier and full of energy.

A colleague told me today that the hotel underwent refurbishment but the suite room doesn't look a bit very new to me..... But indeed there's drilling and knocking sound in the day to enforce what my colleague had said.

Anyway, I thought I will be very tired but not really. We woke up at 9.30am and headed down for breakfast. Agter that, it's ang pow counting time ! And I spend the rest of the day watching a whole set of 20 episode HKG TV serial, catching an afternoon nap and an hour's break to go my mum-in-law place to have dinner...

After 2 nights' of stay, I could feel I returned to office recharged but I wish I could take a longer break.....

My Wedding (Part 1)

And so it's true... ...

Every couple who went thru the same ordeal will tell you the same thing ... ...

'Months' or a year's of planning will be over in a flash !'

We only decided to throw our traditional wedding banquet dinner last December. Although planning the whole wedding doesn't really kicked off until 2 months prior to it or the pace only began 1 month prior - to be exact, you cannot imagine how everything manage to fall into place and pull off the day so quickly... ...

From this wedding planning, I have learnt to take things in its stride. Be positive, and probably I've learnt and enlightened fully by Sam's philosophy, Shit happens anywhere, no matter how well-planned you are.

I'm totally not bothered whether my emcees are going to do a good job later, even though they only decided who to do which part (English or Mandarin) on the banquet day itself at 5.30pm. Maybe, I have total confidence in my lurpy sista and our handsome bro....

I left the whole task of doing up montage 3 to Lao Niang and Vivien (the photographer) though I did make quite a fair bit of noise to them while they are doing it up. I do admit I was initally pretty nervous that we cannot do it up in time few days prior to the event and rehearsed so many times to put myself into standby mode if I have to take over anytime... ... though Lao Niang insisted I shouldn't stress myself in the first place.

I didn't even check whether my evil twinnie can read my instructions or not on which buttons to press even though I know she is good at IT, not like me ... ... and made her to co-ordinate wif the emcees on laying my 3 montages.

The ballroom is so long that 3 of them have problem communicating, reading each other's cues but I also didn't bother as I know they have telepathy.

Deep inside me, I have total faith in them. I know they will run the show well. I know they will show their professionalism no matter under what circumstances. We all perform best under stress and can get things done in the fastest mode within a very short time span ... ... I know I will be safe under their hands.

The success of the whole day of event was really the work hard of not mine BUT the volunteerly help from all my friends who should enjoy all the credits. Not only that, the efforts from the team of people at Pan Pacific who had also contributed much to the success of the wedding - except the hairline crack.

You Are Such A Spoilsport !

Is it a must, traditionally, customary to 'sabo' the couple during their wedding day/banquet ?

Is it necessary to play prank & embarass the couple in front of all their relatives and other friends ?

Is it always a/some 'sabo' then is considered a memorable wedding for the couple ?

Is it the couple's fault when he/she decline such initiative that was sincerely plan by his/her friends who meant well to add to the atmosphere of the wedding ?

Is it the bride/groom's fault to get a lifetime partner who turn out to be so serious who will not entertain to such 'sabo' request ?

I thought the best gift to give to your friend on his/her wedding day or night is your greatest blessing & attendance plus to ensure he/she look their very best throughout their wedding instead of 'malu-ing' them ?

Or is it my usual jovial character, evil straits, has made people think that I am easy going and sporty all the time..... which I'm really am (most of the time!).

You can imagine how his/her heart sank, right from heaven of happiness plunging straight into hell of deep dark ocean that very second when he/she decline the 'sabo' and his/her whole table friends fell into dead silence and wore crest fallen faces.

He/she had RUINED his/her OWN wedding at that very second. 30 mins where he/she can close one of his/her most important chapter in his/her life.

Probably the words used to decline the offer were too harsh that turned the friends off. But verbal communications and email correspondences had stated clearly that the partner will not buy such entertainment ! And no one expect they still came prepared.

Oh well, he/she may had thought too hard & mistaken his/her friend's intention on the 'sabo'. They could have meant well.... The 'sabo' could have been their true and 100% sincerity for the couple. He/she could had been such a 小人 and talking bad about his/her friends here.

Whatever it is, the damage had been done and there is nowhere to mend this wonderful chapter of the couple's, no matter how fine this crack is.

You are such a spoilsport who ruined your own wedding that you have painstakingly planned for the past few months - just by being quick tempered, blunt and straightforward.

You have to learn to curb your bad behaviour despite causing so many hurtful incidents in the past and you still dun learn from mistake.

This is your retribution for always pouring evil onto people surrounding you.

13 Hours to Go

I will be traditionally married off in 13 hour's time.

It looks so far yet so near.....

And there is till so many things I have not done yet !

Exfoliate my face ! Give my Face a good mask !

Pack my make up kit ! Pack my toiletries.....

More importantly, SLEEP !!!!

I'm very tired now........

I promise myself I must go to bed by 9pm..... coz I gonna wake up at 5am !!!!

No dark eye rings for tomorrow, that's for sure !

Hen Party

Secretly planned by my evil twinnie and lau niang..... Initially I was supposed to apply leave on last Friday and have to stay outside overnite......

Somewhere 1 or 2 weeks ago, the plan changed and I have to apply half day leave on Friday, no more overnite.

They said it's a surprised for me but both of them ended up telling me bits and pcs without me asking ! I only asked when attire need to be in so that I am prepared wif what they are going to do to me.....one question led to another and lao niang auto told me we are going orchard..... hee hee hee...........few days to the hen afternoon...... evil twinnie auto told me,

'u can wear your pretty wedges liao. We are going mani and pedi !'

Ha ha ha..... happy happy....no striptease, no late nite, no heavy alcohol...... My incesstantly annoying request that I must go home by 8pm had managed to ward off the above ! And this has won me another nickname.... Cinderahsoh...... An pretty Ah Soh who is like pretty Cinderella who have to reach home before 12 midnite.... Ha ha ha !

An email early in the mornig nearly knock me off the chair....

'We are going Changi Village' Huh ?? I rather MIA than go to Kampung Changi lor which is just a 5 mins ferry ride away from Kampung Ubin.... But later, I told it was not a bad choice either, we can go Changi Village to watch sunset and eat seafood & CRABS !!!!

Lao Niang came over punctually tis time at 1.15pm to bring me out but I was still sending emails out furiously while I asked her to go and entertain her mentor. We left about 1.45pm and lunch at Taka Crystal Jade where I fill my stomach with favourite tim sum dishes.... Instead my dear lao niang brought me to the place they wanted to bring me there, it ended up I brought her there.... insisting going to level 16 using the departmental store lift..... haiz......

They brought me to Asia's Largest Spa and treated me to a full body massage plus mani & pedi. See my mani & pedi.... 'swee boh' ?

After the pamering session, we headed to Giraffe at Istana Park for dinner.... We ended fighting, slapping and scratching each other after the dinner..... WHAT HAPPENED ?????

Fighting over who should pay.......

I extended my Cinderahsoh timeline from 8pm to 10pm so that I can join them for a drink at No. 5......with a few of their frens joining us later..... With laughter and I realised the night stretched to 12 midnite and by then, my eyes turned itchy (signalling I should go home to sleep) and I decided to end the day.

Twin twinne and lao niang continue the hen party with their frens while I was sleeping soundly in my 'pang pang' bed.......

It's such a memorable day although there's nothing kinky programmes for me. They planned such a relaxing evening for me that I really needed it badly..... The only regret is that the 3 of us forgotten to take a picture !

They must had spent too much $$$ and it will be my turn soon to recipocrate by giving both of them a monkey party...

'Ang Ang' 'Ang Ang'

It's all so 'ang ang' !!!

Last Saturday we did the traditionally part of the wedding with Alvin & 1 of his aunties to bring stuff over to my place and then we exchange and he brought the things back to his place again.... I was so fascinated by what both my mum and mum-in-law prepared that I forgotten to take pictures ! There are oranges, martell, red candles, dried preserved oranges, turkish delight lookalike soft sweets, canned pork knuckles, cakes, and lot of things that I can't remember !

The whole exchange process actually did not go beyond half and hour, before you realised it, it's over....

Mum also prepared a tub-full for stuffs for me to bring home to symbolise I've married out and like mum gave daughter kind of dowry. All of them are in red, so 'ching chong' !!! There's a pair of chopsticks, spoons, cups, etc, etc ....

There's also a pair of oriental bedroom slippers that is so 'ang' that i quite like it. Mum said it used to be clogs and now they actually made so nice slippers.

Mum also got me a pair of lamp, but now it is battery operated and no longer oil lamp so it is very safe.....I'm not going to burn down the whole house. The instruction is I got to leave it on tomorrow all the way until the next morning..... There's a significance to it, but cannot remember it now.....

Grasshoppers Concert in Singapore

It was such an exhilaring concert and Grasshoppers never failed me despite their age is tipping at 40. They danced, they sang, they joked, exactly just like they used to be. I remembered they left such satisfying and memorable experience when they had their previous concert in Singapore 11 years ago.

They are still as flamboyant as ever .... and my favourite Edmund So is still as good as ever ... Some pics of their outfits to show you ...

This is what they wear for the segment ... and this Remus So look so 'hiao' twisting and turning flaunting his pom pom skirt ... he looks so gayish !

3rd segment - they changed into like lamb and moved and groved to the music of georian music ...

After almost 2 hours of jumping up and down, dancing and grooving, Edmund and Remus started complaining their hair was flat, cannot stand anymore and insisted their hairstylist to come on stage to style their hair while they continued to communicate with the audience ... Calvin yet on the other hand cannot stop nagging at both of them for being so vain...Last of all before they continue another strings of fast songs whle they tried to regain their energy and breath after the slow songs ....

I wanted to take many many videos like I did at Alan Tam concert ... but the ushers at Indoor Stadium was so sickening that they stopped people from video-ing ! Hmpf ! I am, still am very angry with them. Can't I vdo down for my own viewing again next time ... It is not that I am going to tape down the entire 3 hours what ...

Anyway, luckily I managed to video down the opening segment and enjoy their niffy footworks again.

A Hump-y Man

I got a Hump-y Man today from my Evil Twin yesterday.

Ah Fi has one too and she MMS me to show me earlier on ... and I still 'suan-ed' her to because of the Hump-y Man just in case he hump her anytime... Ha ha ha ha ha....

Not long before the next message came in and reads :

'You also have one lor'

Oops !

And so, now the Hump-y Man sits cheerfully on my office desk, smiling at me daily but he cannot hump me... ha ha ha... i chucked him right to the back and use the phone to protect him from falling down !

Traditional Breakfast

I went back to office last Saturday morning to do up the RSVP for the wedding dinner as my computer decided to apply MC and have to be admitted into the hospital.

The whole of China Square Central was exceptionally quiet. Probably many compaines and organisation had gone 5-day week and so it was extremely peaceful at that morning time.

I have the urge to have half boiled eggs and my desired black coffee and so decided to get myself a set......

Hans - nearest to my office ... but no no ... at least not today. I dun like Hans to use Gardenia bread to toast and slap kaya on it. It's not traditional lor ...

Ya Kun - Next nearest .... passable for that morning if I dun have another choice. However, I dun like it super flat and crispy .... though .... I am still eat if someone offer ...

Toast Box - Hey, I suddenly remembered ! Toast Box ! Round the corner to Citibank. Furtherest away from my office. I had the traditional breakfast once at Great World City and like it ! So, even when the hot sun is shining brightly and sexily above my head, I made my way there to order....

Hee hee, hungry hungry ... despite ordering a set and just adding an extra piece of bread, 4 workers can actually keep reconfirming my orders while they faithfully doing up my set + extra... Traditional white bread which measure 1 inch at least when 2 pieces are stacked up with butter and kaya sandwiched in between. Finally it appears !

Black coffee in the usual styrofoam cup but this look a bit westernised but nevermind. What's impressed me was, they break my half boiled eggs into a small container without breaking the egg yoke and gave individual minature dark soya sauce packet and pepper packet (for the egg). Others have put their eggs in normal styrofoam cup and they don't give you any pepper or dark soya sauce packets. You just simply open up the cup with eggs and add in the seasoning before you left the coffeshop. Next, Toast Box seres their toast in a square - sized paper box to hold your toast. Space rnought to put 2 pieces side by side .... so cute !!!!!!!!!!!!! Others just simply chuck the toasts into paper bags .... nothing wrong with that though ...

Call me A Freak. I simply just love they way they 'ta pau' the egg and toast !

Flowers Arrangement

These are some of the flowers we received when we relocate from Suntec to China Square Central. They looked so pretty and smelt nice when we receive them. It added colours of vibrancy in the office when they all arrived.

Looking at them really make one happier !

18 May 2007 - I'm Grieving

A text message came in about 6.30pm and I didn't read it until I boarded the bus to my mum-in-law's place..... The message was from my brother and it read,

"Dear All, my beloved MAS has just passed away few hours ago"

I couldn't believe my eyes !

MAS is one of our family dogs of pure King Charles Spaniel breed. I loved him the most among all the doggies my parents have. He is so blurry and innocent looking but yet the most mischevious about the lot. He seldom barks but is as greedy as a pig. He snoorzed as loud as my dad when he sleeps. He grew from a tiny little puppy to a big fat dog. He had such a rounded and big backside that I couldn't resist smacking his 'pi pi' whenever I saw him. He can stand all my kind of 'bully and torture' whenever I play with him and he seems to enjoy it ! We could enjoyed such plays almost everyday before my mum shifted and I moved into my own flat. Despite only seeing me a couple of hours weekly or even fortnightly, he was still able to recognise me, much to my delight.

I quickly called my brother to verify and it was true my doggie died 3 hours ago and my brother and just sent him for cremation. My heart sank immediately and I couldn't help but cried my all th way during the bus journey to my in-laws' place.

I noticed MAS has lost significent weight during one visit to my mum's place about 6 weeks ago. His round backside is totally gone. My mum told me his urine is in dark brown once in a while. I was quite worried and ask my mum to bring him to see a vet. As weeks went off, he was still getting thinner despite he was still eating well. No vet visit has been scheduled yet as my parents are short of money. Seeing a vet is much more expensive than see a doctor.

The last time I saw him was the Tuesday before he passed away. Mum said he has been eating well for the past few days and has become quite restless.... he don't even have the mood to play with me. A vet visit was finally scheduled for the afternoon on that fateful Friday.

Mum left home for lunch at 12nn with aunties and she said MAS was wagging his tails vigorously and happily, sending her out of the house like usual. Bro was on his way to pick MAS up to see the vet at 3.30pm when dad called to inform he had passed away. Mum rushed home and was totally heart-broken and wept sadly. We had suspected MAS could have died because of heart attack.

I don't dare to call my mum when I received the news to console her because I know I cannot control myself too. I need to compose myself before I have the guts to face her and managed to visit her on Saturday afternoon. Thanks Buddha, she has somehow overcome the grief and was normal in front of me.

I'm still grieving and mourning ... ... ...

Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

People say 日有所思 夜有所梦.

And this happens to me yesterday.

I thought all planning has been going on smoothly for me. Friends volunteer their assistance automatically with me asking or begging. A bad news that looks minor is good enough to keep my mind occupied and sleepless for so many nights.

Or probably I have been too complacent about it. And may thought help from friends are 理所单然, moreover, FOC somemore.... I shouldn't have take my friends for granted, not even a single % of that thoughts on mind.... People are doing it for you as a favour, not a business transaction where $$ is involved ....... And I shouldn't feel that pinch so much and save that hundreds or thousands of $$$.....

But, 我又不甘心就这样放气. It's like once in a lifetime and I if I'm not going to do it, I may never have the chance again.... It's not that I like to 'hao lian' or show off...but who doesn't want to show their frens and relatives something they are proud of in this lifetime to all of them...

So, I thought....maybe I should 求人不如求己, test this out this weekend or so and see how fast I can get this done and do it on my own on the actual day..... Ah fi STRONGLY DISCOURAGE ME when she found out and we had a talk about this yesterday. She insisted this type of things should be on my stress list on that day...... but I really doesn't want to give up so easily.......

After the talk and I couldn't imagined the whole night I have been thinking about it ! even my mind was thinking about it when I sleep !!!! Panda Eyes again today.....

So, right now, I got to re-compose myself again and take things in my stride.

天下无难事 只怕有心人

Mother's Day

It has been one of the most enjoyable day for my mum and aunties last Friday. I took half day leave with the intention of sendng my evening gown for alteration, picking up my mum's amd mum in law's outfit and also taking my mum and aunties out for a good meal using the excuse of Mother's Day !

I cannot remmember when is the last time I brought them out for a meal. When my mum used to run business at the hawker stall, she is ever so busy everyday..... & when she can spare some time, I may be tied up and so, it just dragged and dragged......

And finally, the retired lady is so free nowadays but I still can hardly date her out. And so, with the excuse of all the above, we had a very good vegeterian meal in a restaurant in Bukit Timah, under my account..... and we headed Orchard for shopping.... I guessed they knew I'm a shopper but not a hardcore one.... I brought them from Wisma Atria to Ngee Ann City, to Paragon, back to Ngee Ann City and back to Wisma Atria..... We were all so tired after that and we had dinner at the new food court at Wisma. Despite it is already 8.30pm, the food court was packed with people. Oh well, maybe it's a Friday..... We decided to end the day after dinner. Not long, my dearie mum saw a bag in Chomel and my aunty saw an outfit in there too and she spent the time there until the shop closed.....

What a day we had and I was so happy that I managed to find time to be with mum..... I will try to arrange for more activities to bring them out...... they will be so happy ! & it makes me happy too..... probably because I'm trying to mend the lost time for 20 over years that I hardly spent with my mum while she was busy at the hawker stall finding $$$ to feed us..... & as children, we tend to focus on our own things more and much more as we grown up.....

The Look

Have done my trial make up last Thursday wif mum coming along....... She is more excited than me, probably because she haven't been out shopping like nobody's business since my parents decided to take a temporary retirement.

The make up artist is good.... while she was doing her job...she explain to you why she is doing this.... what to expect..... etc, etc.... Before she start on, she even chat wif you to find out your requirements, needs, etc, etc.....

She even gave pointers on how my hair should look, what type of accessories to wear to enhance the look. I am very satisfied with her service in fact.

I know look a bit haggard. The lack of sleep has tarred my eyes so much that no amount of make up can cover the dark eye rings I have.....

So, not a close shot of myself anymore....

Broadway Beng

MIA for quite sometime...... why ???? Coz PC at home 'su kat su kat' just disconnect and I damm pissed nowadays that I hardly wanted to do anything with the PC at home.... To make matter worse, while doing 'spring cleaning' to the PC software..... I guessed I must have deleted the Words software and now I cannot do anything pertaining to the wedding thingy..... and I am still procastinating to find a solution to quickly get the stuff out !

Anyway, this is for Broadway Beng. I went to watch the 3rd run og Broadway Beng 2 saturdays ago. And boy, I was disappointed with this act. Or probably because the 2nd season was so good and I have high expectation of this one.

It doesn't managed to hold my laughter and I did not laugh until I cried..... It also didn't contain any acts that i laughed until stomachache.... I was really looking forward to the acts of IR and was atonished that Ah Beng spent more time on gambling (4D) than acts of casino..... probably if he had did something on that will be more funny.....

Anyway, there's a feedback form attached to the programme sheet.... so if you know me..... you will know what I have done..... not only given my feedback but long long story of it until I nearly attached another A4 paper to it....

But Ah Beng is still my idol !

Alan Tam Concert in Singapore

Last Saturday, 28 April, was Alan Tam's 30th Anniversary World Tour concert. We didn't think of watching initially when the news of the concert was made public. It was a series of the concert advertisement on TV that prompted Alvin 'he must watch'. I wasn't so keen although I like some of his 80s and 90s popular hits. So I insisted Alvin to pay for my tickets as well... Hee.....

And so, we went for his concert ! It was held at the Max Paviliion at Singapore Expo. The carpark was full when we are there at 7pm, concert to start at 7.30pm..... There were streams and streams of people and we were surprised by the turnout. So we followed the crowd and went along to the hall. After 5 mins of stroll then we realised the masses of the crowds belongs to the church...... I took a peep into one of the halls for the church and was atonished that the decor was as good as a pop concert going on ! The hall was lit with colour spot lights and the whole hall was 'lit' dark.......

Nevertheless, the turnout of the concert was equally good with at 80% filled. As usual, we have to wait for at least 30mins before it starts..... but the concert started promptly 8pm sharp with a medley of dancing hits......

There was no special appearance by any other singers and Alan Tam sang continous for 3 solid hours with only 2 5-mins break in between, communicating with the audience cracking jokes, fast and slow songs blended well throughout the concert. we were taken by surprised. At 57, Alan had the stamina to dance and belted out all his hits with no sign that he is out of breath.

He also can hold the audience till the very last song for the concert with sme refusing to go even when the whitle lights are lit after the concert. I remembered he has many crazy fans arranging from males and more females teenagers and young adults during the 80s and 90s, going crazy of him. So, i must say we are shock when we saw many of his matured (by now) fans screaming and dancing to his songs, standing right in front all the way throughout the concert....... These matured or even above 40s fans behaved just exactly as they used to be when they are younger.... The scene was pretty amusing but I guessed they are just reliving what's they have been during their younger days.....
