It has been donkey years that I hit the sack that late..... er....... to be precise, 'early'.
I can't remember how many years back then, that I crawled to bed at 4.45am after a night's of 'play'.
It supposed to be a just a simple night out after gym, as my 'big day' (planned 'chiong-ing' day) is next saturday. Fi & me arranged for a late afternoon gym workout so that we can followed on to have dinner.I visited LH before heading to gym. LH has given birth to her 2nd baby boy (3rd child) yesterday!
Anyway, I was just so LAZY that I stopped the run on the threadmill after 15mins and continued for brsk walk for another 10 mins. Usually, I will just pushed myself for another 10 mins of run even though I'm tired. But yesterday, I was just so 'nuah' that I just 'sayang' those weight machines too instead of doing some quality workout.
Fi & me catched some snack while waiting for Feifei to return to SIN to join us for dinner. Fei led a group to Genting for 2D1N and a lot of 'suay' incidents happen and she wanted to poured them out. We meet at No.5 pub at Emerald Hill. The chicken wings and pizzas are just fantastic there !
The 'fever' came whne Feifei wanted to go Karaoke to sing away her 'suay-ing'. Despite Fi having a K session the night before, she gamely agreed. Well, she's our K queen mah ! As for me, I haven't step into a Karaoke joint for hundreds of years and I think with my SUPER Limited Edition of 'songs, I should be able to spend the evening through.
I was fascinated that Cineleisure was packed with youngsters and shops remained open despite after 10pm. We checked into Room 19 at K-Box KTV at about 10.30pm and we are allowed to stay until the KTV close. We were led into Room 19 and we were laughing hysterically as we felt was are some nite club' gals being led by our mamasan to a room to entertain 'our bosses'.
It has really been so long that I never step into a KTV. I was dismayed that everything is controlled electronically and chided Fi 'why there is no song book around?' The remote control looked so foreign to me and I irritated both of them everytime I wanted to 'play' with the remote control. Well, I'm a clever gal, controlling a remote control is nothing to me. I managed to 'subdue' it within an hour !
Not too bad....I survived the whole session with my SUPER Limited Edition of songs. Almost every sad songs we sung reminded us of our 'strong & mighty'. Poor boy, his eyes and ears must be itchy like mad. Hahahaha. We finished the last song - an Ah Beng 'car washing' song just before the KTV closes at 4am.
Did I type wrongly? nope, its's 4AM. We had sung for almost 5.5 hours! FANTASTIC! One of my longest singing marathon.....I reached home at about 4.20am, had a shower and crawled to bed.
Refuses to pack my gym stuff, refuses to detach from my bed today until 12noon when I have no choice.....my stomach is grumbling for food.....
hee hee hee......
Do you want to join me this weekend?

Can someone tell me what's on these young people's mind?
It's not a good day to apply leave today.
Well, if I know LH is giving birth today, I would cancel my leave and return to office.
Both JH and me on leave & LH is the labour ward, the office is really 'down' with junior staffs only. Luckily, boss is in town otherwise he will freak out !
Received smses during facial that LW wanted to talk to me about my dear intern gal-gal. I called back immediately sensing something is wrong in her smses and I was told my dear gal-gal wanted to take time-off at 4pm. Her boyfren is sick, down with flu and fever. LW refused to let her go as the office is down with staff and she had the audacity to tell LW that she has nothing to do anyway even if she stay till 6pm.
I am extremely pissed by people who doesn't have any sense of responsiblity. Well, at least she feel extremely responsible to go off to look after her sick boyfren. Hey, is her boyfren so sick that she had to rush to his side immediately? Like LW said, 'bey bey ko' couple..... *sigh*
Call me uncompassionate. THANKS.
LW had no choice by her pestering and emails that she seeked boss approval and boss allow her to go off at 5pm. If everyone is in the office today, I will not have a problem to let her go but looking at the office condition today, she should have know what she is doing. Moreover, she's on internship and everything she do is going to affect her appraisal and grade.
I thought I've been lucky to have her as she was more keen and quick to learn and much more proactive in her work. But if she gets distracted so easily and if this incident is going to happen again. I will be very displeased.
Tell me about it, are we (70s babies and 80s babies) falling into a generation gap?

15 September
Today is my 'ang' birthday and I'm on leave.
Nope, I don't have any plans to celebrate his birthday coz he's still in Taiwan. Remember, he's still on reservist and I am still enjoying my bachelorette days - Week 2.
I refused to wake up untill 11am although my brain is awake by 10am. The weather has made people lazy ! It was a greyish day this morning and heavy rain began to pour at about 12noon. I sent my 'ang' an sms the first thing I got off bed wishing him Happy Birthday and received a reply with no thanks but asking me to remember to go to the bank to drop off a cheque :< Guess he is too grumpy there or any mood to enjoy his birthday while getting stuck in some ulu village in Taiwan.
Another sms came in and I was informed my Rsvn Mgr is in labour ward now ! Oops ! Panic ! I should be happy as her baby is popping out soon but why am I panicking? She had a fall yesterday and dislocated her kneecap. I was worried as she had a fall also during her 2nd prenancy. I urged her to go and see her gynae but she refused and assured me she is fine and Xiao bai is still moving in her stomach. She also warned me not to tell boss. Nevertheless, Xiao bai is borned this late afternoon. It may be the fall that speed up the delivery, it may be our meeting yesterday that we laughed so hard that Xiao bai couldn't take the laughing 'tremor' anymore. Anyway, I'm paying her a short visit tomorrow.
The rain was still pouring when I left the house to go for facial. *sulked* I really hate going out when it rains. I've decided to give the bank a miss since it was raining .... hee...

IMF
Traffic has been a breeze either going to work or getting home ever since the beginning of IMF.
Roads are closed around the vicinity of Marina Bay area, with much focus given to Suntec - where the hype is all about.
Our Government has done such a tremendous job in informing her people about the road closure and being kiasu S'porean, people are staying away from the place altogether, except the people working in the 5 towers of Suntec and 2 towers along Millenia.
Retailers and hoteliers must have realised the disappearance of their good fellow shoppers and diners. EDMs, flyers, advertisements, lucky draws, whatever you can think of, are flying all over the island to attract people to go there ! But it hasn't been working, I must say !
Security has definitely step up especially today since it is widely known that meetings commence today and all big shots flying into Singapore from yesterday evening onwards.
BMW 7-series are also spotted along Republic Avenue from today onwards. I juz couldn't help but drool over those shiny cars that snail along the road into Suntec. I never se so many 7-series before, lined neatly along a lane. They are juz so elegant. No big man spooted in those cars though. Nice car number plate too - Singapore 2006 661, Singapore 2006 674, etc, etc.
All 500 of BMWs (3, 5, 7 series) are already snapped up by S'poreans. Swee !

Bacherlorette Days
My 'ang' left for his much postponed reservist to Taiwan at 11pm. I'm wondering if SAF is really sending him there for reservist or to protect Ah Bian (Taiwan's president) as the Taiwanese are beginning their 'dao(2) bian(2)' activtity today !
His departure also marks the beginning of my bachelorette days ! And that's 3 weeks in total !
WAH HA HA HA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not that I will miss my 'ang', it's juz that sometimes it's nice to be alone and do the things you want. I'm quite an indepent person to the verge of being anti-social at times........ But separation will make the hearts fonder, right? :>
Okie....I'm going to but tkts for Forbidden City with my galfrens ! Hee hee, and looking excitedly forward to see my idol Hossan Leong and new idol - Sebastian Tan - the Broadway Beng !
Keep you posted on my tkt purchase later !

Have My Prayers Been Answered?
1 night of msn-ing with Fi & Jo brought us together on an unusual outing to 'Si Ma Lu' Guan Yim Temple. Evryone has different agendas on their mind. Jo wanted to ward off her suay-ness. Fi wanted everything well in her life at the moment. And me? Errrrr.....wanted 50 paxs of bookings on Sunday's CBT Fair.
Being appointed the tour guide of this 'expedition since I claimed I have always visited the temple with my mum, but I forgotten to inform that I always just 'follow my mum's instructions' without taking note what is the correct procedure. Ha ! So, you can guess my princesses' disappointment. Making a wrong turn to go to temple, dun know to light joss sticks or not, need to buy flowers or not......... hahaha ......... but at least, there is something right. I remebered my mum's words. " Whatever you are going to do, always pray to 'tee gong' first, because he (the Jade Emperor) is the biggest. The whole praying takes about 5mins. The best part is - we almost forgotten the most important mission. Our successful ballot of tickets to watch the Musical, The Forbidden City. Jo's company is sponsring the musical and the company are throwing in pairs of tickets at reduced prices for staffs to ballot...... Wish we will get it !
We carried on for organic vegetarian lunch at Fortune Centre but all our efforts (Fi & me - gym & healthy lunch) when we met Sharon at newly revamped B1 Raffles City. We drowned a Ben & Jerry's MERLIONSTER !!!!!!! *Roars* 6 scoops of ice-cream on a waffle bowl, with banana and brownie cubes. SHIOK !
Did Guan Yim eventually answered my prayers. Well, I think she (or he?) tried the best. Guan Yim may not heard me too well as Saturday was packed. We did farely well as in getting many people interested in our tours and there are may enquiries. What saddened us was all our hard work didn't bear fruit as potential clients 'disappear' after a while when we left them at the FE waiting area. Have they left becoz of the long wait or they have been converted to their own group tours?
OH NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the last thing I want to know..................

Bomb Dropped
My boss has finally dropped a 'bomb' this morning during the meeting to the rest of the staffs.
My RSVN Manager has decided to call it a day and to become a full-time homemaker to look after her kids. She has 2 toddlers and 1 approaching in Spetember. When I knew it few months back, I was shocked ! But I can understand her plight and situation. Although, the family - in - law has 2 maids at home and grandmum - in - law and mum - in - law are there to look after, mum - in - law still have to go stalls to help out for business, grandmum - in - law is also getting on in her age and maids have to look after the domestic chores in a big bungalow where the whole family stays. They can help, but not focused. Looking after 'Do Re Mi' age gap of kids is no joke mem....... Morover, her husband would like her to be with the kids especially during their growing up years.
Getting myself into such a situation is on the least priority in my life agenda now and I'm serious about it. My parents are working as hawkers and they wouldn't have the time to help me to look after any babies, though they are good to play at times. My parents - in - laws have also dropped open hints some years back that they will not be looking after any babies. First, they married early and now they are enjoying the kind of freedom they never had while they are young and definitely not giving up any. Secondly, my father - in - law that he has 3 sons. If he look after the first son's child, then he is obligated to look after the 2nd son's and the 3rd son's child in future. He has to be fair to all sons. True, I agree fully with him. I also can't be unfair to both sets of parents as they are entitled to enjoy their senior citizen's life. I would like to be like them when I turn 50 and not running around my own grandchildren.
But what's really putting me off is the freedom I enjoy now. I can just go anywhere I want, do anything I like, sleep till anytime as long as my body wish for. I've seen a lot of parents putting their children as top priority in everything and secondary or no priority for anything for themsleves. Hey ! I'm not saying this is not right or what. This is just the most natural thing that most parents will behave. I don't know, I maybe like one when I become a mum but definitely not in the short run. I just feel it so pathetic if I can't go shopping or facial because I have a kid in tow.
Enough of my nag and back to the meeting......
I have been observing a colleague's reaction and movement from the second my boss announced the manager's departure and I can see she cannot accepted the news. She wasn't concentrating during the meeting and uncontrollably shed some tears when my boss teased her after the meeting. She couldn't even eat her breakfast. I guessed it is a big blow to her as she came to Insight is also part of she can work with Manager as they are quite on good terms. Secondly, she may feel some lost of insecruities as I feel she had relied a lot on the Manager. Whenever, the Manager is on leave, stress is written all over this colleague's face.
It's another 1 more month to go if the baby decide not to come so early. Everything is operating as normal for the time being. I shall gossip more when the last day comes.

Broadway Beng
I watched my funniest play yesterday and it was also my first visit to DBS Arts Centre housed near Robertson Quay.
Broadway Beng - A slinglish talkshow by Sebastian Tan. This is in fact a 2nd run.

(picture from www.sistic.com)
I started laughing with tears in my eyes right from the beginning. It was so hilarious and I regretted Alvin decided not to come with me. Sebastian can sing so well. I liked his voice. He is also quite good looking. In fact I read somewhere before that he is not ah Beng by nature. He is actually English-educated and acted in Broadways in London before. His much acclaimed work is Miss Saigon.
The whole show started at 8pm with laughter carried on till 9.30pm. He acted so well and I think he will forever be remebered as an Beng of Singapore.
After the show, Li Wah commented he is like from some singing competition........but none can verified that. Maybe you will be interested to know more about him. www.sebastiantan.com
If there is another season of Broadway Beng, I will definitely bring Alvin along.

Clear Leave (08 - 10 August)
I've applied for leave and hoping to laze around at home to rest as well as to catch up on all the DVDs that I have been keeping them for the longest time.
Coincidently, 08 Aug is my ROM anniversary and 09 Aug is National Day, so it make sense to apply leave for 10 Aug.
Unfortunately, I'm more busier and spending more money instead.
08 Aug - Left home at about 10 am, heading Great World City to have breakfast at Macdonal's, followed by collecting Alvin's pants at Zara. Since he has another $20 Zara voucher to spend (expiring 17Aug), it was natural for me to see my stuffs. I was $138 poorer when I left Zara.
Since I'm out, I went Wheelock to do my own stuff and hit the malls to purchase shopping vouchers required by company. then I went, Chinatown, Pearl Centre to buy 'bak kwa'.

I couldn't think of anything appropriate to buy and within my means except 'bak kwa' for David and wife. Although I didn't purposely MIA at Genting, I thought it is my gesture to say thanks to both of them to worry for me during my 'disappearance'. This brand of 'bak kwa' belongs to the family-in-law of my colleague Lay Hong. It is called 'Jin Pin Xiang'.
By the time I reached home, it was almost 4pm and I am really exhausted.
09 Aug - We have arranged for a small gatehring today initially at Albert's place but switced to June's place at the last minute. June promises fly past and fireworks as her blocked faces National Stadium. Oh yes ! Today is out nation;s 41st birthday !
As our helper will still be coming to clean the house at about 11am, we went for breakfast at about 10am, then we went to Alvin's office to 'hide'. But Alvin has a 'pointed' backside and he can't be sit for long. So, he urged or insisted I must go to Toyota showroom to see Altis which his dad decided to buy. I was more interested with a new model call Toyota Yaris. It's a hunchback and small car. SO CUTE ! I always can;t resist cute cars. I decided to meet Huiyi earlier than 3 pm as expected at Toa Payoh. It was really a small gathering as only Albert, Sunny, Yifeng's family, Huiyi and myself, and of course with June's family. we chatted, watched the babies played and the parade on TV. We wanted to leave early but 'pai say' as June said she wanted to 'talk' to us after she put her baby Tivon to sleep. We stayed till the parade and fireworks were over and Sunny, Huiyi and me proceeded to go for dinner. We initially wanted to have dinner but after Albert and Yifeng left and we realised that wasn't any proper place to have a food spread, we hid our hunger. As Sunny was driving, Huiyi suggested a cool Olio Dome tucked in a corner of Bishan CC.
10 Aug - I've decided to bring forward my facial and spend hours there today. B the time I reached home, it was almost half a day gone. I tried to watch a few episode of the serial as the main objective to stay away from work was to coop myslef at home to watch shows. Yet, you can see I ended up doing a lot of things not in the agenda.
Nevertheless, though not going anywhere for holiday, it is also a good break as staying home is also a form of holiday !

KL Trip (04 - 06 August)
I'm always a week late in whatever I wanted to share with all of you.
This is a much postponed trip which my'ang' promised to bring me again. Although it was a postponed trip, I'm very much glad it did because we coincide with the on-going Malaysia Mega Sale !!!!!!
We went along with David & wife because I refused to allow my 'ang' to drive all the way to KL. He always has the tendency to speed and I wouldn't to put my life to such risk. His friend, David, on the other hand, is more consistent. He loves long-distance driving yet he doesn't speed. He can maintained the speed for almost 100 KM !
So now you know why I always told Alvin to ask them along. :>
We set off on Friday evening at about 7.30pm from my place, picked up David and hit the road. We arrive at Tuas Check point at about 8.30pm, I think. It was a smooth crossing as there aren't much traffic. We have a quick 'zi chai' dinner in JB and hit the highway immediately. I was so tired that I slept all the way from JB to KL city.
By the time, we have checked in, it was almost 1 am. We met up with another friend who had arrived much earlier with his family. David & wife then brought Alvin and me to try 'lok lok' by the roadside.

'Lok lok' means cooking skewers of food in boiling water or oil, then accompanied by sauces to eat them. Alvin would NEVER NEVER tried it if just boh of us alone, He's too worried 'to lose face' to tell his friend that he doesn't want to try them. He perceived the roadside stall to be very dirty. Anyway, we didn't end up with stomach cramps the next day. 5 of us ate away RM38 worth of food. We proceeded to a nearby food & drinks stall for some drinks and was 'chopped' RM9.50 for 1 teh-o, 2 100-plus, 1 milo. We were all so atonished! Probably, we ate our own nasi lemak without patronising theirs or just because we are from Singapore and therefore they can chopped us up like radish.
Anyway, we were too tired and returned to hotel to hit the sack. By the time I'm in bed, it was almost 2.30am.
Rise & Shine ! Not until 9.30am though..... We are going for a nice Ipoh Hor Fun near Jalan Imbi, beside my favourite mini egg tart store.

I 'tah pau' 5 egg tarts after breakfast and we returned back to hotel. While waiting for David and his wife to get ready for the day, I finished all of them at one go, together gazing through the window, looking at KLCC.

We stayed at Crown Regency Apartment which is only a stone throw's away from KLCC. It cost us RM180 per night in a Studio Room but I don't like the place. The whole room is so dark at night, as if the light bulbs aren't working. The sofas are faded in colour and the room gave me a very old feel. I really don't like it.
By the time, David and his wife is ready, it is almost 11am and we drove to 1 Utama at Damansara. A mega shopping mall that you cannot finish in a day. It is about a 20mins' drive if there is no traffic jams. As it was a Saturday, we spent almost another 20mins trying to find a parking lot. Every lot was parked with cars. Surprisingly, as we thought the mall will be flooded with people since there were so many cars, apparently, it wasn't. We can feel it is still spaciously comfortable when we were on the retail floor.

Before I can began any retail therapy, David is hungry and wanted lunch. Everyone agreed and we headed out for lunch at this retaurant. 5 mins' drive away - but this time we took a taxi as we doesn't want to drive out car after spending a hard time earlier on looking for a space. Super Crab Aroma Seafood Restaurant. It was a good lunch where we had fish porridge, thai style pig trotter, etc, etc. I can't remember what else we had eaten.
Nevertheless, we returned back to 1 Utama and it was almost 3.30pm then. David not realising the power of this shopping mall, wanted to rejoin back in a hour's time. Frantically, I raced to my favourite store on the 2nd level. I told my husband, " I got no time for you and to give you advice on your choice of clothes. You decide for yourself. Bye ! I'm going over to my own sections." Malaysians are pretty interesting. For every piece of clothes they try, they have to show their friends waiting outside. They can't be bothered by the long queue forming outside. Probably, they have waited long enough, so now they feel they have every right to 'choop' the cubicle for as long as they want. As I have no time, I quickly tried my pieces and get out there. We managed to extend for another hour of shopping...hee hee....

In the end, I bought a 3/4 sleeve orange-stripe shirt, a black skirt, 1 top in this store. Vincci shoes are not attracting me, they are not following the season's up-to-date fashion in the shoe design ! While there was still time to spare, I hoped over next door, NOSE, and was delighted to find a pair of red patent flats ! I was thrilled. I can replaced the one I donated to Salvation Army ! Although the red colour is not as bright as the previous, I just grabbed. I got another pair of retro silver strappy sandals too ! By the time I was ready, David and wife found 'gold' in Padini Concept Store and they also started 'digging'. We let them be (so that I can continued to scout for anything I have missed earlier on). I ended uo with a pair of sandals and a white tie. I told Alvin the tie is very nice but unfortunately he don't wear one. He then suggested I can get for my boss and gave it to him when his birthday approaches. GOOD IDEA ! The tie went into my shopping bag. Finally, we completed all my shopping with everyone's grimming and we were all ready to go Genting.
It took us about 45mins from 1 Utama to Genting Highlands. The last time I went to Genting was 5 years back. We drove up too. I wasn't really looking forward as I don't gamble. The ride was smooth and I guessed due to safety reasons, the authorities split the uphill and downhill route (one on left, one on right) somewhere at mid hill. The weather is still very cooling. I followed them to the casino and had a tour of it. It was totally infested with mainland chinese tourists and I really don't like it. They are not the city-dwellers but more of those tourists from the villages. Don't doubt me, I can see from their dressing and the way they behaved. I parted with the group as I was told there is shopping at First World Hotel (heehee). We agreed to call each other whoever is done first.
I followed the crowd and covered route all the way to First World Hotel and was extremely surprised that it's an intergrated indoor theme park and shopping mall all in one. Overhead car ride can be seen and I'm extremly happy to see a Ferris Wheel in there !

I continued shopping and ended up with a drawstring skirt, 1 shirt dress, a top and errrr.........I think nothing else. By then, I was too tired and was wondering why they haven't called me. Therefore, I decided to relive my childhood and took a ride on the Ferris Wheel ! ..... though it's a bit wierd to take the ride alone.

You can see I was indeed enjoying myself. By the time the ride finished, it was almost 10 o'clock and I'm just too tired that I decided to go back and look for them. I heard someone shouted for me at the Genting Hotel lobby and realised they have completed their game with good winning. I was extremley shocked when Alvin angrily telling me off why I didn't pick up my mobile as 3 of them had been calling me umpteen times ! And to all our horror ! my mobile didn't ring as there was no network, however, there's ringing tone when they called. David and wife was relived when all of us realised it was a miscommunication and misunderstanding and it was not my fault. By then, everyone was hungry and we headed to Jaya town (3/4 hill of Genting) for 'zi cha' dinner. I was extremely sorry and kept apologising to David & Janet as they had walked twice to First World to look for me as well as twice to casino to look for me too. By the time we returned to KL, it was almost 1am and everyone was very tired and hit the sack immediately.
We slept late the next day. We had brunch at this restaurant called 'Hai Wai Tien' and headed back home. I was surprised the restaurant begin selling mooncakes although it is only into 2nd week in the 7th month (of the 1st month. There's 2 7th months this year).

We decided to have dinner in JB at a nearby kampung-style alfresco coffeeshop as we arrived JB at about 6++pm. We ended this marvellous holiday (minus the mobile phone glitch) with durian dessert at roadside stall.....hee hee

Looking forward to the next KL Shopping Trip again ! See ya !

Haw Par Villa
It has been weeks since I last had breakfast with my hubby on Sunday. He has been to JB with friends to enjoy Bak Ku Teh at Kota Tinggi or another part of JB to enjoy another type of breakfast delicacies, while I have been hitting the gym with fi.
The highlight of last Sunday was the visit to Haw Par Villa.
The statues of a tiger and cheetah (or leopard) are still clearly etched in my memory. I had a photo when I was about 4 or 5 years sitted on one of the animal statue. Therefore, this time I was determined to find the animal statues and take a photo with it so that I can compare the difference between when I was 4 years and 29 years old. Oh well ...... I will elaborate later .......

Haw Par Villa has always been an amusement park for many generations of children, including my parents. It was built by a rich businessman Koh Boon Haw who invented the Tiger Balm ointment. He bought the piece of land and built a villa for his brother Koh Boon Par on top of a hill. I'm not too sure is he the one who built the deity statues, etc. Don't know in which year, it became public and everyone can go and visit the park without any fee. That's also how the name of the amusement park come about.
At one time, the government or Singapore Tourism Board took over the place, refurbished it and charge an admission fee of S$ 16 !!!!! No one wanted to pay so much and the park deteroriated. Eventually, the govt or STB spend some money again to repaint the statues and again become a free admission park again. Now, there is even a museum and modern chinese restaurant in there.

See this car ! Cute ? It is one of its kind. Original one. It used to belong to the Koh Brothers. It is now a timeless piece 'parked' at Haw Par Villa for tourists to gawk at. hahaha...
We paid S$1 each to visit a walk-in cave where there are showcases of 10 Courts of Hell. It show how a person got their retribution or go to heaven according to what they have done in their life. If you have done many good deeds, they will go to heaven. If you have done bad deeds, then you will be sent to the respective hell levels to suffer. While going through, even the slightest bad thing (like cheat in exam) will send you to hell. Looks like the heaven must be everything empty. After the sufferring, you will be reincarnated back to human or animal depending on how bad your deed is.
Back to my cute tiger and leopard story...after walking under the hot sun for about 10mins, I finally found my beloved animal statues !!!! I was so excited and whipped out my camera immediately. You juz not going to believe me !!!! The camera FAILED me !!!! I kept sliding the phone so many time and it juz refused to activate the camera. I was fuming ..... by then, my 'ang' cannot tahan the heat and insist we are going back. I was juz so mad with the stupid phone.
While we left in the car, I juz realised I can actually activiate the camera by slecting the icons in the menu bar. By now, I'm even madder with myself ! I AM THE STUPID ONE instead !
I promised myself lor....I die die must go back there to take a picture with my beloved animal statues lor.....

My Little Red Shoes
See my red patent shoes !!!!!

I long wanted a pair of red shoes, especially bright red ones.
One fine staurday after gym with fi, we met up Jo and went shopping in Orchard Road. We went Heeren as there are many sophisticated individual shops there. While we chanced upon a shoe shop, I was attracted to this pair of shoes. Bright, Red, Shiny - it has all I wanted ! I tried another 2 pair of diferent designs on red shoes and finally settled on this one. Both my galfrens commented the peeka-bo looks retro. Size fit and I paid $25.90. I'm a happy gal !!!!
3 days later when I tried the shoes again, to my horror ! the shoes fit very tightly on my feet ! It really hurts the upper part of the feet, especially the left foot as my left foot is slight larger.
Not giving up on the shoes, last Thursday, I wore it to work. It was really a bad choice and I practically feel like going down to the mall to buy another pair of shoes to soothe my feet. In the end, I endured till home.
Sadly, I packed the Little Red Shoes into a nice plastic bag and donated it to the Salvation Army last Thursday......
I told myself, you gonna get out to hunt for a good pair of red heels again....
I did.....Zara, $145.00....... I'm waiting......

Contiki Resort Bali (14-16July)
This is a much delayed post, exactly 1 week late. Initially, I thought of doing it altogether when I receive all the pics from fi, after some thoughts, I decided to go ahead first before I get too lazy. Anyway, I can always do an update :>

The youth wing of the industry managed to sell 80% of the SIA group seats to Bali and the Getaway trip is 'borned' ! All main committee members were present and some trade friends came along. It was a short 3D 2N trip and all of us thoroughly enjoyed it ! Although all of us wish it could be longer.
Here are some photos to share with all of you !

This is Richard. Insight's intern for 2 months. He's is enjoying his 3 mth summer break and his dad thinks it will be good for him to join us for 2 mths to get a glimpse what the tourism industry is all about. Boss is nice to let him join us at the expense of the company. He was tasked to be our Tour Leader for the trip where he will earn a good 4 dollar........ no no no, rupiah for the job ! Ha ! Not only that, our good boy was 'arrowed' to dance on stage, violated by younger gals and big gals like Jo.......

This is Kuta Beach. Our first stop being a tourist on this beautiful island. Next, we wandered aimlessly in the streets for about an hour (I think) until our stomach grew hungry. We hopped into a chic internet cafe/restuarant to have our lunch.

This photo was taken in the cafe/restaurant while we are waiting for food. Nothing fantastic......unless I showed you the original one ! This pic has in fact being 'photoshop' by my dear Fi. Apparently, all 3 of us had deep eyebags hangng below our eyes. This showed that we had worked very hard before embarking on this trip ! Ha Ha !

We went back to resort after lunch as we had book oursleves for spa...... Sharon & Jo is trying the Chocolate Obsession treatment while I opt for Deep Blue Wrap. Chocolate sounds good to eat...but er....not with chocolate lotion ingering on your body.....Eeeeeee !!!!! I scared I will attract flies !!!!!!

Richard is having the Chocolate Obsession treatment too. But why his reaction is so different from Sharon & Jo? Both of them look enticipating, but he look scared ???? Hahaha....because he is going to be 'treated' by a male masseue.... He's stressed ! He scard the male masseue going to be naughty with his fingers !!!!

Jo carried to have her nails treated - manicure. See, does she look like a tai tai being pampered?

It's done ! I couldn't help but to take a picture of her sipping the ginger tea while waiting for her nails to dry. Just look at her pose.

This is the Contiki "lego' bus ! My ex-manager caled it that. Don't you think it is cute? It's our little transportation to almost everywhere in Bali. 'Swee' !

Nick brought us to this cool place called Ku De Ta....It is located beside Oberoi but it has nothing associated to it. It's a standalone restuarant by the beach. We reached there in time for the sunset. It's such a lovely place with the sea just beside you. Children are running around enjoing themsleves on the beach while adults look on from the restaurant. I promised myslef to go back there for lunch one day if I ever go back to Bali again. Not dinner because walking by the beach in the dark is scary !

Fi took a pic of me while I was enjoying this Berry Bellini. Everyone said the pic was well taken and I could be the poster gal....heeheehee.....so shy.........I asked Fi to 'photoshop' a bit so that I look better wth this naked look. 'wee'.....

We returned back to resort at about 7pm as they had prepared a BBQ buffet dinner that night. Jo & me was caught smitten by this table setting, isn;t it romantic to have candlelight dinner by the man-made beach? Unfortunately, it's for display only..... therefore, we grumbly moved to the actual table tey have set for us.

The dinner was good and we had an enjoyable night especially the painstakingly entertainment the resort GM has arranged for us, definitely with our participation, the night is young and full of laughter !
Keep posted !

What a day ! I fell.....
It's just so embarassing !
I fell today, right on my knees.
I went Marina Square after work to search for some corporate gifts required for an upcoming promo. I walked the stairs (opp Esplanade) like I always did whenever I visited M.S after work. I don't know what got into me today. My mind was wandering with many thoughts. The next second I knew, I slipped and plonked hard on my knees.
It must be quite loud as an Indian man in front of me (a distance away) turned back and saw me on the floor. I forced to picked myself up, smiled embarassingly at him & indicated to him I don't need any help. I didn't dared lift my heads as I heard people behind approaching - wondering did they witness 'a good show' - as they walked passed me.
I just stood there for a few moments as my left knees where numb. I tried to straighten my legs and finally forced walk to Esplanade bus stop. As I walked, blood trickled down a small cut on my right knee. It just wouldn't stop. Then, I got panicked and quickly hoped into a cab to head home.
Damm it ! the blood stopped. And I wasted $7.00.........

My Good Old Friends
I go to Harbourfront almost once every month and have never met any friends before.
This evening, I met 2 in fact - at Harbourfront.
I am making a trip there to sign up for my facial package which today's is the last day of the promotion. I am suposedly to reach home by 7.30pm so that I can watch the last part of the last episode of a TV serial.
But then, the bus, No. 10 was snailing all the way from Suntec to Harbourfront which already irritates me enough. Rushing through the slow walking young crowd on the overhead is hurdle. I double stepped to DBS ATM t draw some cash & was surprised to caught Albert along the mall. He did not see me. I stopped him and we have a quick chat. After we parted, I regretted not going coffee with him when he offered. We haven't meet up for quite some time and I was one of the closer one to him among our gang. He has been troubled with relationship woes since we last spoken and I haven't been keeping in touch with him.
Just as I left DBS ATM with an extra 2 steps, I bumped into a senior 1 batch before me, James. Oh wow! I exclaimed. I met 2 long time friends in just such a short time. James looks good and I believed he must be blisfully married, putting all the unhappiness between him & a galfren of ours many years ago. We exchanged namecards and I commented he looked fat in the photo on his namecard. I guessed I shouldn't make this remark but this is true! It doesn't look like him too! He is as good as the good old James I know 10 over years ago!
Oh well, I'm glad I met both of them, though it's just a few minutes.

The Shenton Way Culture
I was parked at Shenton Way International Plaza for 3 days to learn Macromedia Flash animation. It is amazing to know that at the few clicks of your mouse and some creativity, you can wand fantastic animaton for the web. It's just so interesting.
Back to the main topic, I can't help but notice many OLs (office ladies) carry umbrella to shield themseleves from the blazing sun when they go out for lunch. You can see all sorts of umbrella during that 1 hour of lunch break.
I call it the Shenton Way Culture because I only saw this in Shenton Way! I worked in Orchard Road before, Suntec currently, visit Raffles Place frequently BUT never witness such a 'trend'.
Fi said this can be because there in Shenton Way, there aren't many connected malls and undergrounds, like the other places. That's why these OLs carry umbrellas to protect themselves from the UV rays when they step out of their working buildings.
Come to think of it, make sense!
Maybe it is also a better tool for 'chooping' seats and tables at hawker centres & food courts, as compared to tissue packets!
Ha !

'Got Heart' Bear
I went downtown Orchard on Saturday afternnon to run some errands and was on my way home when someone stopped me outside Scotts Isetan.
'Miss, would you like to make some donation to XXX Charity?' Sorry, I've forgotten the charity organisation. The tennage gal asked holding a tin can in her hands. 'Any amount will do', she continued.
I haven't been giving to street donation ever since the NFK saga and I just remembered I have lots of coins and so it's a good time to give some.
While I was staring at the tin can thinking how much I should give....the teenage gal whipped out a cute little bear.
'You may wish to buy the bear at S$3'. Awww.... it's so hard to resist this cute little one.

I parted with S$3, dropped it into the tin can. I left happily and I guessed the gal left happy too. And I realised this little bear has a love shaped on its left chest and it said - got heart.
Next day, after gym, Fi & me met with another round of charity drive again outside Far East Square. The boy was holding a t-shirt selling it for S$10. It's for an organisation for muscle deficiency children. Both of thought S$10 is too much to part with and thought we can make a small donation. The boy handled over an A4 envelope and said we can left any anount in there. Armed with him on the other hand is a document certified by YMCA for this charity drive.
Unfortunately, both of us were not confortable with donation cash in a mere envelope, we declined the donation and left.
Both of us can't help but felt very disturbed how can the charity organisation gave these students just envelopes to collect donations. What if they are being robbed? Or what if they claimed there's no money collect? Though I believe these students are with integrity.
Something to discuss about.

Nokia N70
25 June 2006. I've finally sum up enough courage and pocket cash to change a new mobile phone!
tah tah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isn't it cool?

This is not the colour I bought. Mine is Ivory bronze, so ladylike.
My service provider, M1, ran a 2-day promotion and this phone cost S$398 if I continue my mobile plan for another 2 years. And recently, M1 sent a S$100 off mailer and the phone is only S$ 298 !!!!!! I was so excited and after gym, dragged Fi to go with me to M1 at Majestic. Praying the queue wasn't that long.
Just about 3 weeks ago, I made an attempt to go M1 at paragon, putting my feet down, I MUST CHANGE MY PHONE...at a cost of $438. This price has not gone down for a few months! I've been monitoring since March. Luckily, heehee...the sales person told me, 'Ma'am, the wait is at least 1.5 hours. Would you like to wait?' My goodness ! I must be mad to spend my whole saturday afternoon waiting to change that phone in busy Orchard ! I smiled and walked away.
Lucky me ! I perserved ! Yay yay......so happy now.....
The best part is, instead of buying my old phone (which I insisted) which my hubby wanted, he is willing to pay for my new phone ! Yupee ! What a happy gal I am........

Smile Singapore, Smile !
I twitched my brows.......amused by the new headlines today.......our Prime Minister launched a campaign to get all 4 million singaporeans to.....SMILE.....
I'm just speechless....I really don't know whether to laugh or to cry. Well, anyway, this is not a first time such 'service' campaign is launched.
A year back, when the International Olympic Council was here to determine the host for Olympic 2012, Singapore Tourism Board has also launched a similar campaign 'teaching' the service people on how to talk, how to dress, etc, etc. At that time, I nearly fell off my chair laughing when I managed to get hold of a copy of the pamphlets that was distributed to almost all retail workers in Orchard, Suntec area. It was like teaching a 15 year old gal on a grooming course or 'training' her for a pegeant. My goodness....I just find the whole campaign so silly. It should be up to the retail store's management to decide how their staffs should dress & how to talk. I believe STB should have much better things to do.... And SINGAPOREANS are not IDIOTS.
A year later, today, our PM launched another (I find it equally amusing) campaign, SMILE for the forthcoming International World Bank conference this september. Do we have to stand in front of the mirror everyday to practise smiling?
But honestly, Singaporeans doesn't like to smile. Probably such campaign should begins with civil servants. I always have to urge to ask the service person at the counter - "Have you forgotten to bring your smile to work today?"
No matter you are in public sectors or government sectors, as long as you are in the role of serving another person or even animal, PLEASE SMILE. I urge all employers to take the lead, smile to your employees and your employees will smile to your customers.

Courtesy Begins With Me, A Smile also Begins With Me.....& it brightens everyone, everyday :>

Inaugural Networking Session
Our 'baby' was finally borned on 7th June. The inaugural event organised by us, a wing from the trade association. We got the turnout as we have predicted and as usual, no-shows was high. This is the norm for our industry, sad to say. However, the trade people was reserved, though this is a networking session. The sad thing is many left early which we were pretty disappointed......
Probably students haven't had much chance to attend such 'party' & are younger, they are enthusiatic !
I'm not pushing the blame to the trade people...c'mon.... We realised our mistake for not keeping the crowd together. The sound system was a total disaster. People at the back couldn't hear us.....& therefore, they couldn't engage. While I waited until 8pm (i'm at registration)to mingle, I failed too ..... that's something I regetted not being too open to the 'strangers'.
I also disappointed by the lack of support from the secretariat of the association. No one came to lend us out support. the invited guests disappeared without saying anything. We don't even know when they left. However, we are extremely grateful to our dstinguished guest who stayed almost to the end. He was a newly raised prominent person in the public community now and we are so appreciated by his attendance to grace our event. He even wrote a 'thank you' note to us and that's very sweet and polite from a importnant public figure.
The next person whom we are very grateful too is the pillar of our wing, a 'high ranking' person on the executive committe of the association. He stayed till the last guest left, encouraged us by saying the show went on well and we did a good job though all of us can see the 'results'.We are thoroughly at least motivated there's someone who lend us and show us the support we realy need.
Next in the house, a holiday trip !
