The Shenton Way Culture

I was parked at Shenton Way International Plaza for 3 days to learn Macromedia Flash animation. It is amazing to know that at the few clicks of your mouse and some creativity, you can wand fantastic animaton for the web. It's just so interesting.

Back to the main topic, I can't help but notice many OLs (office ladies) carry umbrella to shield themseleves from the blazing sun when they go out for lunch. You can see all sorts of umbrella during that 1 hour of lunch break.

I call it the Shenton Way Culture because I only saw this in Shenton Way! I worked in Orchard Road before, Suntec currently, visit Raffles Place frequently BUT never witness such a 'trend'.

Fi said this can be because there in Shenton Way, there aren't many connected malls and undergrounds, like the other places. That's why these OLs carry umbrellas to protect themselves from the UV rays when they step out of their working buildings.

Come to think of it, make sense!

Maybe it is also a better tool for 'chooping' seats and tables at hawker centres & food courts, as compared to tissue packets!

Ha !
