Yawn….. so tired…..not enough sleep

Yesterday, I attended a community gathering which I had RSVP-ed earlier….. hearing that the performance troops are being invited to perform in Chingay. Once of them is something something circus…. I was so excited ! Circus !!!!! So long never watch circus already !

The last time I watched a circus was about 5years back when the 24-hr convenience store chain brought in the last animal circus from Russia. I have never been to a circus before and so I insisted to go. Because after that rounds of performace, ‘gah-ber-mem’ banned animal circus because of cruelty to animals or maybe scared the spread of all sorts of flu…

So this time, I was kind of looking forward to it although there are no animals….. But no !!!! They were ‘lancing & lancing’ all the time ! With some magic and hoo la hoops going round…… I was so sad and kept ranting... no circus.....

The best part was…… the next performance. We were treated to a African ‘ballet’ which impressed us for a while… Oh … they are not doing the tip-toed ballet but the feet stomping and clapping kind of African ballet, I assumed…. It just gone on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on……. We nearly died ! Ai yo, they stamped feet never ending ! My evil tiwn's turn to rant non-stop I cheated her got ballet.... where's the ballet...... and we bian-ed her to leave her cosy kampung dragged her to watch something we all ???? about...... We cheated her got dinner but ended up buffet dinner which some leaders from the roots of the grass had started woffling dwon the food even before the show ended !

Finally, it ended and we were so happy as finally it’s dinner time ! But to our surprise, we were greeted by horrendous queues where you can’t even see the buffet spread at all. That was 9.15pm. If we were to queue, I think we will get to see the trays of empty at 10pm.

So, the trio decided to head outside to eat but dun know to where. Lao Niang kept wanting to have teochew porridge which I dun know anywhere else except ‘Havoc’ Road… I would very much wanted to go Oasis but er…. My evil twin will kill us lor….

So, in the end, we had steamboat at beach road and was so full that we all couldn’t sleep when we reach home at 12 midnight…… steady hor ?

That’s explain why I’m so tired now coz I couldn’t sleep until 2am…… Yawn........

Chingay 2007

I attended my 2nd Chingay last Saturday but this time was SO DIFFERENT ! My boss asked me to go with him on the actual day and he had VIP seat. So, I am also a VIP !

Wow ! It makes me sound so important and really I am.

We drove into Scotts Road with no cars supposed to go pass on the extreme left lane. We were given way to give into Mariott Hotel carpark which is the official carpark for all the VIPs. We were led to register in the comfort of air-con and my boss was given an usher to lead him the way. In turn, my boss – the VIP, has to usher an VVIP. So, while they are waiting for the VVIP at Mariott lobby driveaway, my boss’s usher led me to my seat at the grandstand in front of Paragon shopping centre. Each individual’s seat was labelled with names, not seat numbers…. Wow…. I felt so privileged and I realised the President’s family will be seated beside me….. oh……

There were many VIPs this year and I got so up close and personal with so many Ministers, especially MM Lee !!!!!!!

The show started a 8pm sharp with blazing firecrackers and show after show. Definitely, the highlight for me is to witness the shared float which my company has a shared in it. No prejudice, I must say it is one of the nicest float but alamak ! commercial break on TV when our float appears, damm ‘sway’ mem…… This is the 2nd second such shitty thing happen to us. Bloody hell …….

The next highlight is definitely our post-65 MPs who danced to the groove of hip hop…it’s so hilarious !!!!!

The parade ended with beautiful fireworks ….. and seeing my fren, Ms community who is one of the performing troops liaison officer , standing by the road with her supermarket plastic bag in one hand …….dressed in t-shirts, shorts and slippers… SHAG !!!!!

My Evening Gown - Confirmed !

I was so excited and happy !

Remember fuschia pink german lace evening gown I tried at M**** B**** ? Oh well, it too expensive and I couldn't afford it seriously, not even to rent.

And so, after an unplanned pass-by into a seamstress shop in Golden Landmark, and a planned visit to Arab Street on the 4th day of CNY. I have more or less decided to made-to-measure my evening gown, in fuschia pink too ! But at a much reduced price - I hoped.

I made an appointment with the seamstress on Saturday afternoon and never did I realised that I’m impressed with the seamstress and her mum’s friendliness and her reasonable price for the worksmanship, I did to let her do my evening gown. With my lurpy sister, Fifi, as accompaniment, she gave my advices on the fuschia laces I’ve laid my eyes on and helped me in my bargaining ! Ha ha ha ! In the end, I paid $155 for 5.5m of laces and 5.5m of satin.

By then, we are both tired and had to quickly rushed home to get change to go Chingay Parade tonight !

This is the first time I am going to a function as VIP and I was excited !

My Wedding Gown - Confirmed !

Over the CNY holidays, despite the busy house visiting, I have finally decided to buy the wedding gown from A**** C***.

So I called the lady boss at 11 ++ am to ask her to reserve the gown for me and I will go down to her boutique to pay for it.

And so, I trekked down and made the payment. To my pleasant surprise, A*** C**** is having a partnership with Dxx Bank. For those who use the woman’s card, there is a 15% discount !

Wow ! I was very delighted. The gown is already very affordable and with this discount, it makes it even more affordable. Okie, before the discount, it was tagged at (very) close to $700. After the 15% discount, I paid less than $600 !!!!!!!

As I was alone, I didn’t put on the gown again to take a picture. Instead, I whipped out my phone and took 2 shots of it…..

The lady boss was very nice too. She let me keep it there for a few weeks before I pick it up later. She also advises me to make the alterations only about 1 month before so that I was get a better fit.

Lao Niang's 3-0 Birthday

Nope, this is not her ‘bird’ day celebration tonight. This was taken during her 29th birthday last year when she decided to throw a big birthday bash at a Pasir Ris chalet.

This year, she decided to celebrate in more quiet moments and less tiring for her 3-0 !

So feifei and me booked her for the evening since she said she got no dates. We killed a lot of brain cells, squeezed dry our brain juices to plan for a ‘lomantic’ and surprise birthday celebration for her on the actual day but in the evening. We got to work mah….

No matter how she pester us, we refused to tell her what’s the plan, simply brushing her off with a simple xiao long bao dinner at a never exist famous Shanghainese restaurant in pasir panjang.

We had agreed on she had to wear nice nice and in the end, she turned up for the evening in jeans. Hmmmm….. naughty gal not listening to instruction…..

Nevermind, we managed to ‘tekan’ her, starting from me ! I made her carried her own cake insisting it was very heavy. When Feifei arrived, she gave her the flowers and asked her to carry it herself….. ha ha ha…. When we boarded the taxi, she was busying making talks with Feifei and I quickly told the taxi driver to send us to mount Faber. Well, hee hee….. we managed to keep her in suspense for a while…..

And so, we arrived at The Jewel Box Mount Faber just before the sun is going to set. We had our dinner at Altivo Bar. It was such a cosy place and it’s great for chill out session with friends !

After a good 5 days' break, I'm returning to work tomorrow. *Yawn*, still so tired......as if no rest........

Goodness....I can imagine the tons of emails waiting for me to clear...... Tomorrow, we are having Lo Hei !!!!! Yay !

Wishing all a Happy Piggy Year !

New IC !

Finally, I decided to make my way to ICA to change my IC. You see, once you hit 30 years old here, your 'gah-ber-mem' will send you a letter to go change IC. THis is a much delayed chore as I should get it done by last November.

Okie, finally, it's done ! All in an hour's time ! Amazed and impressed. Technology really improves one's efficiency.

First of all, I didn't take any 'swee swee' pictures which I promised myself and so, I put on a little more make up than usual, make ICA my first stop of the day before my make up melts.

I went to take my picture first and realise they have gone digital. Wow ! ANd the best part is, once it is taken, it is linked to the counters and the lady just retrieve your NRIC and your picture that was taken minutes ago appeared on her screen ! Of course, I took back 3 pieces for other use next time lor.

Civil servants are getting so polite nowadays and greet you way before you sit down in front of the counter. Everything was taken in electronically including your thumbprints and I received my new IC within 30 minutes !

Yay !

And if you realise, I have 'Sheryl' on my new IC now !

haiz.....but I got to start going to banks to get my accounts undated with my new name......

Italian White Wine

The first one I’m going to recommend is called ‘mosquito wine’. If you take a good look and read the name of the wine, you will know why we give it such a nickname !

The first time I came across this white wine was at the atrium below our office. This hypermarket was holding a Italian Wine Fair. I decided to buy some wine to keep in the office since there is offer now as we always give away wines as gifts.

Those aunty promoters were so good and their service superb too. They kept promoting each individual wine from different Italian regions and kept feeding me and my boss samples of wine ……. And finally, we tried this and we were caught by surprise by the taste. It is very smooth, a bit sweet and fragrance. We like it so much that we bought about 3 bottles.

But we didn’t have a chance to open up and try it until about 9 months later when we celebrated my boss, my colleague and myself birthday party. We threw a lunch party in the office and decided to open up a bottle to try. Everyone in the office praised the wine and they were also caught by surprise by the price. It is only $20 odd and you can get it at the hypermarket at Suntec. Since then this become our favourite white wine.

Next, during the CNY eve reunion dinner at my in-law’s place, my father – in law was so happy that he wanted to open a bottle of white wine and made all of us to enjoy it with him. It was also very smooth and with a tinge of fragrance. It is not sweet though but it is still very nice. It is also very affordable at $20 odd and my father-in-law said can get it at the mass supermarkets.
If you don’t know what white wine to get, you may consider any of the above.

$30 Movie Ticket

I went movie wif my ‘ang’ after the steamboat lunch at Fifi’s house. It has been donkey month’s since we last went for a movie. We are going to watch the Protégé which is a story about drug trafficking. I find that it is a bit sad to have such depressing movies as CNY blockbuster. Anyway, got handsome Daniel Wu to look at, no harm lah…..

And so, Alvin left the task of getting the tickets to his friend (& wife) who is going to watch the show with us.

When we met and had a quick dinner, both of us were shocked when the friend told us each tickets caused $30….. He simply said, ‘because it is CNY mah….’
I couldn’t concentrate on the dinner as it couldn’t figure out how can a movie ticket goes up so much just bcoz it’s CNY? Little did, I realised we were going to GV and he could have got the Gold Class movie tickets….

True enough, I was correct.

It was luxurious. Seats are business-class seating and you can move the chair and lie down to almost 170 degree. You are also provided a blanket to keep you warm. And you can also order snacks and drinks while watching your movies – must pay one lah….

I was so heart pained as $30 can watch 3 shows already ! It is really very wasteful and later Alvin told me his friend always watch movie in this class.. GURP !!!!! Not my kind of friend……

CNYssss

Today is the 3rd day of CNY. Though we are not allowed to say inauspicious things during CNY, but I must say this. VERY TIRING, NEARLY DIED !

I have been MIA-ing for the last 3 years and so this year decided to ground ourselves so that we can free up more cash to go for a well-deserved honeymoon in June or later.

You see, I’m holding my customary in June this year.

And so, I am spared of all those questions this time , “When are you getting married har ?”

I find that as I grow older, I don’t have any excitement over CNY except I can have those CNY goodies that are not available during normal days. During this holiday period, I really hope I can just relax at home, nuah-ing around and chill out. I feel all those house visits are more ‘shiong’ than going to work. You see, you will tend to need to entertain people you dun like and also you wouldn’t be as relax as you are in yr own home although you are still watching TV.

However, it’s nice to meet up the relatives of my side. It has been a long time since I last saw them and we always had very close relationship. And so, I was also glad I was grounded this year.

Anyway, can ‘siam’ will try to ‘siam’ as much as possible liao…..

Wedding Gown Part 3

Finally, I visited the last shortlisted bridal boutique last Friday, 16Feb. Actually, it is not the last.....I juz decided to make it the last. There are about another 5 shortlisted ones along Tanjong Pager Road but I decided to give it a miss ! 1st of all, it is really very exhausting to visit them one by one if you do not have the stamina. Not the stamina for running but the stamina for 'push' then away when they made u to sign on the spot. It can go on & on and you have to convinced them you need time to consider and they, on the other hand, will to convince you why you have to sign that day.... *sigh*

Fifi texted me in the afternoon telling me her apptmt has been postponed to 9++pm & so she can follow me to M**** B****. And so, I left the chore of how to get to Duxton Rd to her and we trekked there together.


It was located on the 2nd floor in one of those shophouses and she specialises in laces especially from Europe. Her gowns was lovely and she was very patient and meticulous. I told her I looked old in laces and she shortlisted 3 pieces for me to try them on. They were all A-line and need not to wear can-can. Truthfully, I looked slim in them lor..... And then there is this piece of evening gown that is made of german lace is fuscia pink ! I like it SO MUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!


If I rent the gown & an evening gown, it will cost me $ 2300 !!!!!! & if I also take (rent) the fuscia pink gown, it will be additional $400 !!!!! Gurp........ It really burn a big hole in my pocket lor - juz for renting.... Fifi encouraged me to rent the evening gown only since I like it so much. Furthermore, it's not easy to get something you really like and since wedding it's like once in a lifetime....all the more should make all my wishes come true.... but i feel very pain to pay a 4-digit to rent something and not eventually haveing to own it ....

The lady was very nice and she didn't persuade me at all to put a deposit to take the gowns. Instead she write down everything and the prices of rental. She knew I need to consider and so we left the place within 35 mins !

Suddenly, it strikes my mind I can possibly visit Arab Street and see if I can find any similar lace...not necessary from europe..... middle east or frm china also can mah.... hee hee.... And also remebered I can find the small little shop I happened to bum into ay Golden Landmark.... I can ask the lady to tailor made for me......

Weddig Gown Part 2

This evening Fifi went wif me to A**** C *****. It was supposed to be M****** B*****, but the lady got appointment liao and so I have to postpone..... anyway, A***** C ***** is part of the one must-visit.....

Let me tell you, this is definitely not a wasted trip. Before I even entered the boutique, I can spot some very nice gowns....

I tried so many of them, from wedding gowns to evening gowns to tea dress.... so tiring.... the gowns are quite heavy for some.....

The first I tried was a bustier wif very nice embroidery and shimmering on it, the embroidry on the train is also very nice......

The second one was a bustier too with strings to go round yr neck..... the most outer layer was like lace and sequin embroidery on it.... it has a train too but Fifi said not as nice as the first one....

The 3rd one was a off shoulder but the front was so high that it covered my entire chest and make my neck look so short ! And it was also tigher, nearly died !

The last was a very lacy one and there are 3 tiers of lace on the outside..... I thought I am like a 3-tier cake........ but Fifi said I'm like a princess !

In the end, I settled for the first piece and think I will most likely get it...... u guess how much ....

$ 699 only ! TO BUY hor...not rent...... I'm so excited......

Just drew this few minutes ago.......... this one got too many sequins and embroidery..... so cannot draw that well.....

Today the hypermarket below my office is having BIG SALE on shawls...... all sorts of colours.....


So nice...... AND SO CHEAP !!!!!!! $ 2.90 per piece !


There are so many colours to choose from and how I wish I can have 1 for each colour......but in the end.... I just bought 5 pieces....



Although the material is not that fantastic, but at that price, it is very affordable and good quality.

Hmmmmm…… looks like he really bought something for me leh……. Couldn’t be box also get somewhere rite……

Ha ha ha….. I juz complained to him the other day that my wallet spoil and he got me a wallet ! Yeah ! Yeah ! So happy !

But I know his pattern one lah…muz be kanna ‘suan’ by his fren who is always buying designer goods for his wife so he also buy one for bcoz he seldom shower me wif gifts or anything ‘lomantic’…. Well, it’s not a wrong guess…. he admitted to it later….

But it’s such a nice surprise which is never him and it’s juz so ‘lomantic’ though ti gesture is so simple….. So now, I muz LURP him more !!!!!

Wedding Gowns Part 1

And so I ‘kuai kuai’ listened to fifi today and called up all those shortlisted bridal shops to check out their operating hours and how many days they are going to close for CNY…

Since time is not on my side and I hope to see as much as possible so I have a better idea and nail down my gowns….

While many are located along the famous wedding street, Tanjong Pagar, I decided to visit the odd one out first.

So I happily make appointment to go G***** I*** and made the trip there alone. Both my lurp-y sisters who offered help was not available….. 1 got lesson and 1 said got no date but got dinner apptmt….. ????? Can someone explain to me what does she mean ????

Ah ! HAPPY VALENTINE”S DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anway, I thought I can cover 2 boutiques today as my boss is so nice to let all off at 5pm becoz it’s Valentine’s Day ! But in the end, I couldn’t finish my work and still left the office at 6pm.

The designer attended to me personally though I told her that I am going to rent my gowns only….. and my budget for a wedding gown and evening gown to stay within $500 - $2000. So, she took some of my measurements, check with me what type of designs I like and shortlisted about 8 for me…. But no lah…. Gurp ! try all, can die mem…. So heavy……. And I glanced thru all of them and tried 4 pieces…..
I particularly liked 1 of them….. and I think it’s nice – on me ! hee hee….. See the design…..

So it’s was time to start the haggering…. I was REALLY taken back when she told me that to rent, it will cost me $1100 for this piece…. ..I find the design is very simple, not much shimmering sewn on it, plain satin…… I blinked and ask further how much it’s going to cost + a evening gown and the price is $1480…. Looks like the profit is entirely from the wedding gown…. The designer wanted me to sign on the spot and I was not willing…. And starts bargaining with her….. She relented and said if I sign today, I will be given my hand bouquet free….. However, I keep insisting I have to discuss wif my ‘ang’ and told her that I will reply her after CNY holidays…..

And seriously, I find that it is pricey to pay $1100 to RENT a wedding gown….. probably because I had checked out A**** C**** which I know I can pay for about $600 $700 to OWN a gown, design similar to the one I liked….. and so, I find to rent a gown at 4-digit is SUPER EXPENSIVE !

Tmr, most probably will drop by the other odd one, M***** B****. Otherwise, I will pop by A***** C ***** to check out the gowns as their 2007 collection as arrive !

My Lurpy Sisters

When learning that I have not done anything YET for the wedding, my 2 lurp-y sisters met up wif me to go thru those wedding mags and ensure I knew what I want…..

So to reciprocate their lurp for me, I must show them that I lurp them too….. And so
here I send them my ‘naked’ lurps….. ha ha ha aha !!!!!!!!!!!

Fifi got something extra as she lugged 6 cans of Gui Ling Gao and 1 tin of egg rolls for me ! All the way from Hong Kong Wing Wah ! So she got 1 extra lurp from me !

Finally, I found time to meet up my fren..... this is a much delayed meeting coz...... I did promised my fren that I will meet him when he returned from the Dec Italy trip that he booked wif me..... and so, I didn't !

I can't really remember why I were so busy for the whole month of Dec and Jan.... but I know I was EXTREMELY BUSY ! Anyway, it over and I JUST COULDN'T IMAGINE..... CNY is approaching and it's just this weekend. Gosh ! Time really flies without you realising it !

Back to the meeting with my fren, he was so nice to buy me a gift from Florence, Italy. Florence is famous for its leathery works and what's more, I got a gift made of leather..... okay, I wished my fren had given me a leather jacket.... but no no..... not too back either.... it's still a jacket but it's a 'jacket' for a photo album ! So sweet of him !

The leather cover was printed with old atlas style of world map and the paper is in cream colour. I gave him a picture book before 2 years ago telling him to put in all his best shots in there. He is very good in photography..... And so, 2 years later, he decided to me once too..... all the way from Italy ! Not that I am good in my photography skill too, but eh........... hee hee.......... to put in many people's much awaited occasion of mine - my wedding outshoot photography in there !

He bought it at this shop which almost all motorcoach touring will bring you there. I've been there too.... But the shop is really selling good genuine leather stuff but at also a good 'genuine' price !!!!! See...... if you been on such tour before, you'll definitely been this shop too !!!!!

Ha ha ha........ it will come into good use VERY VERY SOON !!!!!

Surprises ! Surprises !

After a looooong half a day of lession session of Managing Complaints, I trekked back to the office and was greeted by a table of mess..... It's definitely not like that after I left yesterday afternoon. As I knew I will be away (equvqlent to) 1 day. I must sure I 'acked' my table neatly but it still turned out to be weathered by an earthquake.......

After learning how to manage complains...... I wanted to complain.... the session seems to be a bit draggy and too long..... hope they can look into adhering to the time as specified....so that participants dun have to go hungry like me.....

After 'brushing' the pile of mess, I plonked into work and soon I got to clear the mess and discovered a smilely face looking at me from the side table..... hee hee hee.... my first Valentine's Day present.... from my mentor !!!!! So cute !!!!! It's a cookie !!!!!
And lying beneath it, was a brown envelope with many CNY bessing stickers on it......
I ripped it opened and found a L-shaped file in it. I was so delighted ! Because I was just thinking a day ago that I must go to the bookstore to get myself a file to keep all those papers that it going to pile during the wedding preparation.... I was giggling to myself while I held on to the file thinking is my mentor 'reading' my mind.... hee hee hee......

She is also so kind that she is going to compose me a song as my wedding present. I was so touched once again..... She had did one as my 3-0 birthday present last year. This kind of gift is so priceless as it is tailor made for you. I mean you can go and tailor made clothing or cabinent... but nothing compared to a piece of music..... which is so yours as no one can copy it..... I'm so overwhelmed and appreciative of her efforts !

ha ha ha..... somehow, I felt so blessed..... eh...... so 'lomantic' also right...... like some love story that the boy wrote a song for the gal.....blah blah blah.... so sweet hor..... ha ha ha.....

And then, my 'ang' called and kept to his promise to drive me home this evening because I bought bak kua from Lay Hong and they are too heavy for me to lugg them home by bus.... However, instead, he is going to fetch me somewhere else..... He juz bought in a car for export and needed someone to drive it home for him.... And so it's me !

Oh dear...... I've never drive in any of his bought-in cars because they are all for making money and all of them are continental luxury cars. Given my skills of driving, I dun dare to 'touch' them. But today, due to time constraint. I had to do it for him......

Stress ! My friend. The last time I drove was almost 8 months ago, I think, or even longer...... Very Stress !!!!!! And the best part is, to drive from Ubi to Havelock.... Hello..... eberyone knows the chaotic traffic at Ubi after office hours and my 'ang' actually dare to delegate such a heavy resposibility to someone who drive so recklessly ...... ha ha ha..... buddha bless lor.....

It is a pretty orange 2-door mercedes..... suitable for a lady driver (not me).... anyway, I'm already there..... 'die die' also have to drive it home right........ So I drove it behind my 'ang' who is leading in front in another car.... so I 'gate crashed' into the roads.... I can feel my plams sweaty...my right legs shivering .... ha ! But after 10 mins on the road, I gained momentum but still reckless..... I can imagine if my boss is driving somewhere near me.... he will definitely going to scold this idiotic driver (that's me) 10 times more then he did everyday on the road. By the way, he is a very impatient driver....

And so after travelling on ECP, I got home safely but my worst fear finally arrived.... Eh ! I cannot park leh..... I dun know how to park backside in...... so I 'head' in first lor..... also jiat lat..... in out in out so many times, still slanted..... so I gave up ...... shut down the engine.... and got off the car.... I dun care liao..... I'm going to be a inconsiderate driver for an evening..... and sickening - ly, I took pictures of my parking skills..... not bad right.... still park within the lot leh, though a bit too right lah.... BUT I DUN CARE .......

Initial RSVP

I sent out an email invitation to my friends yesterday evening and this morning......I knew it...... I'm gonna throw some excitement to this 'event'.... but I never know all my friends are MORE EXCITED than me !

Looks like many of friends have turned into giraffes few years back. They have waited for this wedding banquet of mine until their necks grow looooooong ........ I should inform the zoo sometime back that i have some giraffes and the zoo can save some money from getting giraffes from overseas. Ha ! And I can also earn some commission for my wedding mah ! Hee.......

But seriously, I am very very happy that almost all my friends I have invited are coming ! My lurpy sisters are even offerring their help ! Okie..... 1 offer to help, real help as in do work ok.... the other one also offer help... but help to be there to look pretty... ai yoh ! nevermind lah.... she said she want to wear BOM BOM dress ..... so shaky no support how to work hor....... ok lah let her be...... ha ha ha

But right now, dun know what to plan yet except to get my wedding dresses after CNY.... eh... book make up artist..... photographer..... get my fren to do the music.......

talking about music.... I realised I have to select 4 songs...... 1st / 2nd march in, champagne pouring & 1st dish.... this is a real headache.... what should I choose leh ??????

But I know I'm going to start harassing all my friends from now on !

I will be holding my (simplified - hopefully) customary wedding and banquet on 3rd June 2007....yup, it's a bit rush to get the preparation done and it took us almost 5 years, tons and tons of pushing and nagging to decide to 'finish up' the wedding once and for all....

In fact, it took us more than a month to finalise on the venue. It's not that we are spoilt for choice nor we are picky, both of us simply do not have the time to nail down what we want. And so, tonight, we put down our deposit ......... It will be held in the evening at Pan Pacific !

We chose Pan Pac, not only because of the ballroom but also the inclusion. Prices are competitive among the rest but it was the inclusion that attracted me ! Better still, payment by DBS Woman's card will enjoy perks off !

And dun know how Alvin managed to talk win the Catering Sales Manager and he agreed to treat us to a simple meal at Hai Tien Lo. He kept 'threatening' the Manager to the meal, if not, he refuses to sign. It's not that Pan Pacific are dying for our business (many couples were around talking to many Catering Sales Managers while we were there) .... but I think he just gave in to us ....

And afterall, the meal is not that simple..... he treated us a 5-course dinner...... bbq pork & roast duck; giant dumpling wrapped with tau ki with shark's fin soup; abalone wif chye sim; cod fish; & dessert was mango something something with bird nest ! Gurp....... It was so delicious !

Here I am, on the 37th storey at Hai Tien Lo enjoying the dinner and the view.....

Anyway, the confirmation of the venue is the beginning of the disatrous planning and nightmare.....

People, People, Everywhere is People

I went to Chinatown this afternoon.... not so much of going there to soak in the CNY atmosphere or wat.....but more to run company's errand......

It was 4 PM and the whole Chinatown was infested with people...... luckily it was a cloudy afternoon and it was breezy.... it helped as you dun feel so yucky trying to squeeze thru yr way among the crowd. I think I made a million 'zit zit' remarks while 'fighting' my way thru. I just dun understand why can people stop in the middle of the tiny walk way to talk, to look at the stuff instead of moving aside or nearer to the stall..... I also dun understand why can parents bother to push their tiny toddlers in the pram among the tiny super crowded streets.....I think my blood pressure shot up within that few minutes.....

Finally, I found what I have to buy.....3 stalks of fake flowers.... to beautify my CNY basket for the sales blitz....

There wasn't anything new out htere for CNY..... still very much the usual stuff...... but i think I can't control myself anymore......I'm going to buy a tin of love letters tmr.... hmmm..... which brand will be nice????

I Can't Wait

CNY is approaching and where is selling the CNY goodies..... My Favourite - pineapple tarts...but this year I have been very 'kuai'..... I didn't anyhow buy to eat and in the end, with so many bottles....I,m going to drown myself in a sea of pineapple tarts.... so I order 1 bottle from the well-known magazine + newspaper acclaimed pineapple tarts - from a halfway house. Yummy ! Can't wait to sink my teeth into it.... hee hee....

My 'lurp-py' sister going to make some cookies this year at her newly renovated flat...she had used her oven only once, i think..... to bake 2 chicken thighs..... so she should let it work more so as not to retard the oven mah...... I have been repeating my order so many time...hope she got it....

Anyway, ai yo... I can't wait anymore liao..... I settle for a box of Kueh Bangkit first... the deadly coconut 'make in your mouth, not in your hand' cookie....

My boss is beginning the CNY Sales Blitz next week onwards. I have ordered and arranged for the items to be sent to office today so that I can do some touch up. I was shocked when I saw the size of each meshed ingot I had ordered. It turned out to be so big and there are 30 of them.....I really dun know where to keep them and since I had a long corridor..... I juz leave them there.... the after effect was simply just so beautiful....

Hossan Leong's Multiple Disorder Personalities

Just caught Hossan Leong’s stand up comedy at NLB earlier on in the evening.

It was good. WT and me was sceptical and prayed hard that the show wasn’t just impersonating some ‘ang moh’ superstar …..

The storyline was Hossan Leong was narrating a ‘friend’ of his who had just been appointed the servant to run this new Ministry to attract foreign talent. And it goes about how his ‘friend’ attract these superstars by giving free tickets and accommodation….

Yes, there are impersonation of people like Cher, Kenny Rogers, Michael Jackson, etc, etc…. But in each character, there are jest of jokes & suan-ing about Singapore, about our government…… It was laughter throughout the entire 1.5 hour.

What I was impressed is that Hossan can just add in anything into the script. Like during the opening, he suan-ed we are being blamed for causing our neighbour’s flood and I thought I just heard it on the news like 2 days ago ! Better still, he also talked about the soccer match between ‘the land of thousand smiles’ and ‘the island with 4 million smiles’ and this juz happened the night before !

Tickets must be running fast and the show is extended till 10 Feb. If u like to have a laugh, go get that ticket….

Oh ya, talking about tickets…….. while I peered at the ticket stub of Hossan Leong’s Multiple Personalities Disorder…I discovered…… I know I’m sickening but I still gonna do it….. hee hee…..

Provision shop

This is the aftermath of the event we held last saturday. We are worried our partners will go hungry so we packed the place with snacks. In the end, our partners were so engrossed in the activity and hard ate. So I have to lug everything back to office.
