The 3 Silly Fools - Last Part

I'm tired and not feeling good. My tummy has been churning the whole night yesterday. And it is still churning now. Haven't been eating the wole day coz no appetite. It must be the Tony Romas that I ate yesterday late evening. I should retire early and rest more. But - I must blog.

So, the 'pink' fool faxed the request for the flower arrangement at 9.15am the next day and the florist called almost immediately.

Florist : Hello Ms Sxxx, I received your order already and you have a dinner at 7pm tonight. I will do the flower now and send out before 3pm.

'Pink fool' : Ok, thank you. Can you make it earlier like 12nn to 2pm like this? I scared too late and my friend got too shocked.

Florist : I give you priority and tell my men to do it before 2pm, the 2nd delivery. And your message is, hee hee hee, your message so funny.

The florist read out every word I have written and even read out the sign off - 'With Lots of Love, the 3 silly fools'.

Me : Yes, that's correct. & thanks.

The flower did arrived as arranged as I received an email from shasha at 2++pm - saying thanks to the 3 silly fools. Alamak, she knew who 'wor'.......... So smart !

Shasha forgiven us ! But decline to join us for dinner because she had a meeting at 7pm, she is very tired and have to clear more of her work before she is going on leave on Wednesday. Furthermore, she wanted to go home to do some laundry.

But it is not good enough. Though we sent our apologies, it is never too sincere to make a trip to her office ourselves to atone our mistakes. Chocolate bought. Royce Chocolates...... We trooped down to shasha's office to extend our apologies.

The picture on the chocolate is the image of the flower arrangement we got for Shasha.

Shasha was suprised to see us but declined again to join us for dinner. She told her it's not dinner lor, it's supper as 'dinner' start at 10pm. Thanks to Feifei becoz she got lessons.

Fifi and me went shopping while waiting for them. Fifi got 'strong & mighty' to join us too and finally we sat down at 10pm, Tony Romas. We exchanged our sides of the stories and cleared the misunderstanding.

On the bright side, I believed this incident has brought us closer, reaffirm the friendship and we also get to know shasha better. But the best part is, seems like the whole of shasha's office know who are the 3 silly fools lor........

Well, there is always 2 sides on a coin. While something bad has happened, you will find 'good' if you approach it 'bravely'. And while something good has happened, sometimes, it is not so good after all.

Wah......so 'cheam'. Since when I have become so 'you mo shui'?

~ The End ~

The 3 Silly Fools Part 1

I know it's late. I should be in bed by now BUT I must blog.

A series of events happened these 2 days and I realised how powerful words are and different people can interprete the (true) meaning of words in a message when they are in different emotional stages. Well, the writer can be at fault too, without further explaining the meaning of what's just written or just simply a poor command of the English language plus the wrong use of words in the composition.

To cut the long story short, something I written and something fifi written had caused some disappointment and upset of our dear shasha. We were truly remorseful when we learnt about the incident and we frantically msn-ed each other with feifei late yesterday night thru morning (12 ++ am lah) to salvage the friendship. The plan was flowers as 1st strategy of apology, then followed by chocolates after work and sumptuous dinner to mend the bridge. First, it was sunflowers as it symbolises cheery as we were eager to put a smile back on shasha. While we screened thru the florist's website, feifei wanted to give a bouquet of roche chocolate, 2 in 1 mah......continued scrolling the page, the last one was a table arrangement that had 3 daffodils 'standing' in a bowl bedded with 6 more daffodils and some purple flower buds. Each stalk of the standing daffodils is like representing each of us and the whole flower is our way of apology to shasha. So, after much discussion, we settle for this. And we named ourselves the 3 silly fools. BECAUSE of our foolishness blarring unclear and bad eh-ge-lish blogging and got so carried away that we had hurt our friend unintentionally.

Ok, feifei insisted she is neutral. 'We' for fifi and me only.

We squezed our brain for the most appropriate use of words to write the apology message that supposed to go with the flowers. And the message is -

3 silly fools had disappoint and upset you. We treasure your friendship and would like to apologise to you in a way of a sumptuous dinner tonight at 7pm Orchard Hotel Shopping Arcade.

With lots of Love,
the 3 silly fools.

The message is 'aga aga' like this. And it's set. Flower, chocolates, dinner to 'win' back our shasha's friendship.

okie......now......got immediate recall by my bed. It's almost 2am. I shall continued Part 2 tomorrow.

ciao !

Last Saturday for a (temporary) Bacherolette

The Forbidden City Musical impressed me again for the 2nd time. Kit Chan is equally good, as compared to the first time I watched this musical 2 or 3 years ago, when Esplanade just opened. Beside Kit Chan, the rest of the cast was equally good. Everyone acted and sang well. Hossan Leong & Sebastian Tan were comical and funny. Like Feifei said, they added jest and live into the musical as certain part of the musical was quite touching, especially when Empress Cixi managed to get reunited with her son and managed to catach a glimpse of the dying Emperor who eventually named Cixi's son the next Son of Heaven.

This time, I was seated in a good location. Row AA, It is the first balcony row on the 'foyer' and I was facing the stage.

Feifei and me met at 5.30pm and began window shopping along citylink. We wanted Japanese for dinner but the queue at Ichiban was long at 6.30pm. We wanted to go Humble House economical but the deserted dining place put us off as we were not sure whether the menu price in this Humble House economical is in fact humble enough or not lor..... In the end we settled for Shima Aji on the ground floor and we had such a filling dinner. I had a teppanyaki Beef set with Sashimi and Feifei had a Kaminabe Seafood set but the Kaminabe didn't seem to boil although Feifei requested for a 2nd fuel when the first burnt out.

Anyway, we had a good dinner and 'swayed' our way to the theatre holding on to our tickets :> Fei's company is really good to staff lor. The company bought tickets at a reduced price, further subsidised by another 50% of the purchase price and throw onto the 'floor' for staffs to ballot. They should continue to support the local arts scene as long as they can and I think they have th ability to do so lor. HA HA.

The show ended at 10.30pm as predicted and we moved on to meet bossy for Round 2. She brought mystery guests along and I was puzzled as she was meeting her Hi 5 whom I already know all of them. The mystery guests turned out to be Jean ! (used to be a programme coordinator @ Hemsdale where I did my bachelor). It was embrassing initially as I forgotten her name ! I kept repeating 'you are very familiar' until Tony said, 'Jean lah, from Hemsdale!' Wah biang, so pai seh leh !

We carried on to go M.O.S which is one of our shortlisted place. The other was Butterfly Factory, but we given up on this as we were already a few steps away from M.O.S. This is the 1st time I'm there and 'boy', it was a huge place! Feifei brought us to 2nd floor, we walked one round, zooming in and out of rooms....don't know what to do, went back downstairs....still the same...zooming in and out....still don't know what to do....Bossy wanted to go retro room and Jean said, 'It's upstairs, the one we stayed for a while'. Alamak, so mah lu......we been there, stayed there yet dun know that's the retro room. But can't blame it lah, they are not playing 'real' retro leh.....

In the end, we settled on the main section on 2nd floor..... our dear Gerald suggested to play 5, 10, 15 game. I was so 'stup' lor that I need 3 trials + 2 games to get the hang of it. I was almost the 'Drink Queen' in the earlier game as I'm always the one forfeited...but as the game goes, bossy became the champion lor ! HAHAHA !!!!!! She juz got it no matter which directions we went ans no matter how she swopped both guys around.

After dun know how many drinks, we decided to halt the game and move on to retro room as gang got infected with the dance virus.....This time, the room and dance floor was much more crowded. Bossy got me a hanging cradle and I offered to look after their bag while they danced. Seriously, the music they played, I dun know how to dance lor. I believe I am a very out-dated party-goer. Anyway, the egg-shaped transparent cradle rocked so comfortably that I NEARLY DOZED OFF A FEW TIMES ! My God, you would say. But trust me, if I need to sleep, I can sleep in the noisiest environment lor.......

So, in order to keep myself awake, I've decided to caught the Dancing Queens & Kings on camera. A bit blur lah.

Tony drove us to supper at Newton (new) food centre. We have fried hokkien mee, fishball noodles, stingay, kai lan....goodness....oily 'breakfast' at 3++am....... Newton look so different from it used to be and I was surprised by the lack of crowd at 3am. It used to be not like this. We finaaly lifted our butt at bout 4.10am and headed home.

We broke last week's record. I crawled into bed at 5am.

Wolverines Gathering, 22 SEP 2006

I realised as one gets older, everyone will have different agendas and committments in their life. We have hardly been able to get the whole gang for donkeys' years to get together. During poly time, we can simply mobilise the whole gang to gather at some place within the shortest time, for canoe, for run, for whatever we gonna do. And mind you, during those time, handphone is a luxury item ok...we got pager oni.....

These days, if 8 of us turn up for a gathering, we can 'tao cheo' (laugh sheepishly) already. And, we hardly meet nowadays.

This gathering at Yifeng's place, not bad..... 10 (+1)of us ! Yati, Huiyi, Amy, Shikin, Yifeng, Victor, Albert, Kai Ming, Jian Ming, myself and our good old friend, Sunny ! He is already part of wolverines many years back. Maybe it is because of Yati, who has been away to States for many years. We haven't see her for so long and I guessed everyone misses her. But then again, everyone couldn't stop 'suaning' her the minute we saw her.

The whole feeling is like we have all returned to 10 or 12 years ago. We still talk, disturb each other like we are during Poly days. Just that many of us have grown horizontally. Don't believe me? See for yourself lor....

1996

2006 (22sep)

Can you do the matching of the same persons in the 2 pictures?

Some are missing, they can't come due to other committments or just M.I.A. They are June, Suhua, Adrian, Shahril.

I will post more of our photos if I got the time.

I am going for Forbidden City Musical !

Feifei's company has some tickets at a big reduced price for category 2 ($80) on offer for staff to ballot for the musical on 23 Sep. Each staff can ballot for a pair of tickets and so Feifei cast her ballot, she also 'borrowed' her colleague's ballot so that we can get another pair of tickets and 4 of us can go together.

While waiting for the good news on ballot, i was tasked to go ahead to purchase full price (@ -10% for DBs card holders) so that we still get to watch if we lose the ballot..... By this time, many tickets were snapped up and we were left with level 2and level 3 seats. Forget it mem.....pay so much and look at the actors' heads. Then 14 Sep came, no news leh....

Ok lor, no luck..... We have already given up hope on this musical and plan to juz go 'chiong-ing'. Then bossy got to 'leave us alone' in the evening and join us later as she has a dinner appointment.....

5 mins before knock off..... Fei called me......

Fei: got 2 tickets to go forbidden city! My colleague said got 2 tickets haven't picked up. Want to go? You and me lah, but Sharon how huh? we supposed to go out together leh.

Me: ok ok ! 2 tickets only ah. yah hor, sharon how huh? 'Put her aeroplane' so bad hor..... By the way, which level the seats are?

Fei: huh, I don't know leh. I go check and call you back.

Me: Ok ok......

10 mins later..........my mobile rings....

Fei: hey, it's foyer AA seats, my colleagues say the seats very good....

Me: (screaming excitedly in the Suntec mall). Ok Ok !!!!!! Take take take..... a hahaha....

Fei: Take already, take already...... hahaha...we are going to tell Fifi we are going to musical !!!!!

Me: Then Sharon how huh?

Fei: Ok, you go and settle.....

Me: Ok lah, I go settle.

There i am, rushing off to a polymates gathering and forgotten about my dear Sharon....

At 11pm, on my way back, I texted Fei and asked for Sharon number.....Fei replied " I told her the truth already. She got prog and may join us if her prog ends early'.

Ha ha, Feifei so good...settle for me already....

Ke ke ke....I'm going to watch the Forbidden City to see my fav Hossan Leong & Ah Beng - I'm going to pay $38 approx and get superb seating.

Are you jealous? Hee......

YTP 2nd TALK

We did a 2nd 'career' talk at one of a local institution earlier in the day under the trade association's youth wing. Everything went on smoothly except when one of the speaker presented her speech 'very unprepared', otherwise the whole event is considered 100% success. Most of us were quite appalled when the speaker ended her 'speech' within 2 minutes with not much information given to the audience although we are sure we have relayed 'what she is going to say' topic to her. Well, this could be her 1st time and she was very nervous. Everyone has their first time so I shall not dwell about it anymore. Anyway, I would rate 80% success for this event. -15% for the 'sudden' letdown, -5% for the absence of our Strong & Mighty !

Hee hee hee...I thought I was supposed just to be there to look pretty and make my presence felt but someone trusted my photography skills and I was tasked to take pictures of the event. I took more videos it's hard to take clear pictures when the people are moving but I still managed to take my 'best' shot. I caught my dear bossy with her 'bom bom bom bom' in this classic shot and I like it so much. I think she got the same 'height' as Jolin Tsai ;> ;> ;>

I also notice feifei got pretty pink flowers under beneath her little white top. So swee ! And I couldn't stop but keep stealing glances at the pink flowers.

AH HA HA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Call me PERVERT.

Saturday Night 'Fever'

It has been donkey years that I hit the sack that late..... er....... to be precise, 'early'.

I can't remember how many years back then, that I crawled to bed at 4.45am after a night's of 'play'.

It supposed to be a just a simple night out after gym, as my 'big day' (planned 'chiong-ing' day) is next saturday. Fi & me arranged for a late afternoon gym workout so that we can followed on to have dinner.I visited LH before heading to gym. LH has given birth to her 2nd baby boy (3rd child) yesterday!

Anyway, I was just so LAZY that I stopped the run on the threadmill after 15mins and continued for brsk walk for another 10 mins. Usually, I will just pushed myself for another 10 mins of run even though I'm tired. But yesterday, I was just so 'nuah' that I just 'sayang' those weight machines too instead of doing some quality workout.

Fi & me catched some snack while waiting for Feifei to return to SIN to join us for dinner. Fei led a group to Genting for 2D1N and a lot of 'suay' incidents happen and she wanted to poured them out. We meet at No.5 pub at Emerald Hill. The chicken wings and pizzas are just fantastic there !

The 'fever' came whne Feifei wanted to go Karaoke to sing away her 'suay-ing'. Despite Fi having a K session the night before, she gamely agreed. Well, she's our K queen mah ! As for me, I haven't step into a Karaoke joint for hundreds of years and I think with my SUPER Limited Edition of 'songs, I should be able to spend the evening through.

I was fascinated that Cineleisure was packed with youngsters and shops remained open despite after 10pm. We checked into Room 19 at K-Box KTV at about 10.30pm and we are allowed to stay until the KTV close. We were led into Room 19 and we were laughing hysterically as we felt was are some nite club' gals being led by our mamasan to a room to entertain 'our bosses'.

It has really been so long that I never step into a KTV. I was dismayed that everything is controlled electronically and chided Fi 'why there is no song book around?' The remote control looked so foreign to me and I irritated both of them everytime I wanted to 'play' with the remote control. Well, I'm a clever gal, controlling a remote control is nothing to me. I managed to 'subdue' it within an hour !

Not too bad....I survived the whole session with my SUPER Limited Edition of songs. Almost every sad songs we sung reminded us of our 'strong & mighty'. Poor boy, his eyes and ears must be itchy like mad. Hahahaha. We finished the last song - an Ah Beng 'car washing' song just before the KTV closes at 4am.

Did I type wrongly? nope, its's 4AM. We had sung for almost 5.5 hours! FANTASTIC! One of my longest singing marathon.....I reached home at about 4.20am, had a shower and crawled to bed.

Refuses to pack my gym stuff, refuses to detach from my bed today until 12noon when I have no choice.....my stomach is grumbling for food.....

hee hee hee......

Do you want to join me this weekend?

Saturday, September 16, 2006

Can someone tell me what's on these young people's mind?

It's not a good day to apply leave today.

Well, if I know LH is giving birth today, I would cancel my leave and return to office.

Both JH and me on leave & LH is the labour ward, the office is really 'down' with junior staffs only. Luckily, boss is in town otherwise he will freak out !

Received smses during facial that LW wanted to talk to me about my dear intern gal-gal. I called back immediately sensing something is wrong in her smses and I was told my dear gal-gal wanted to take time-off at 4pm. Her boyfren is sick, down with flu and fever. LW refused to let her go as the office is down with staff and she had the audacity to tell LW that she has nothing to do anyway even if she stay till 6pm.

I am extremely pissed by people who doesn't have any sense of responsiblity. Well, at least she feel extremely responsible to go off to look after her sick boyfren. Hey, is her boyfren so sick that she had to rush to his side immediately? Like LW said, 'bey bey ko' couple..... *sigh*

Call me uncompassionate. THANKS.

LW had no choice by her pestering and emails that she seeked boss approval and boss allow her to go off at 5pm. If everyone is in the office today, I will not have a problem to let her go but looking at the office condition today, she should have know what she is doing. Moreover, she's on internship and everything she do is going to affect her appraisal and grade.

I thought I've been lucky to have her as she was more keen and quick to learn and much more proactive in her work. But if she gets distracted so easily and if this incident is going to happen again. I will be very displeased.

Tell me about it, are we (70s babies and 80s babies) falling into a generation gap?

15 September

Today is my 'ang' birthday and I'm on leave.

Nope, I don't have any plans to celebrate his birthday coz he's still in Taiwan. Remember, he's still on reservist and I am still enjoying my bachelorette days - Week 2.

I refused to wake up untill 11am although my brain is awake by 10am. The weather has made people lazy ! It was a greyish day this morning and heavy rain began to pour at about 12noon. I sent my 'ang' an sms the first thing I got off bed wishing him Happy Birthday and received a reply with no thanks but asking me to remember to go to the bank to drop off a cheque :< Guess he is too grumpy there or any mood to enjoy his birthday while getting stuck in some ulu village in Taiwan.

Another sms came in and I was informed my Rsvn Mgr is in labour ward now ! Oops ! Panic ! I should be happy as her baby is popping out soon but why am I panicking? She had a fall yesterday and dislocated her kneecap. I was worried as she had a fall also during her 2nd prenancy. I urged her to go and see her gynae but she refused and assured me she is fine and Xiao bai is still moving in her stomach. She also warned me not to tell boss. Nevertheless, Xiao bai is borned this late afternoon. It may be the fall that speed up the delivery, it may be our meeting yesterday that we laughed so hard that Xiao bai couldn't take the laughing 'tremor' anymore. Anyway, I'm paying her a short visit tomorrow.

The rain was still pouring when I left the house to go for facial. *sulked* I really hate going out when it rains. I've decided to give the bank a miss since it was raining .... hee...

IMF

Traffic has been a breeze either going to work or getting home ever since the beginning of IMF.

Roads are closed around the vicinity of Marina Bay area, with much focus given to Suntec - where the hype is all about.

Our Government has done such a tremendous job in informing her people about the road closure and being kiasu S'porean, people are staying away from the place altogether, except the people working in the 5 towers of Suntec and 2 towers along Millenia.

Retailers and hoteliers must have realised the disappearance of their good fellow shoppers and diners. EDMs, flyers, advertisements, lucky draws, whatever you can think of, are flying all over the island to attract people to go there ! But it hasn't been working, I must say !

Security has definitely step up especially today since it is widely known that meetings commence today and all big shots flying into Singapore from yesterday evening onwards.

BMW 7-series are also spotted along Republic Avenue from today onwards. I juz couldn't help but drool over those shiny cars that snail along the road into Suntec. I never se so many 7-series before, lined neatly along a lane. They are juz so elegant. No big man spooted in those cars though. Nice car number plate too - Singapore 2006 661, Singapore 2006 674, etc, etc.

All 500 of BMWs (3, 5, 7 series) are already snapped up by S'poreans. Swee !

I WANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bacherlorette Days

My 'ang' left for his much postponed reservist to Taiwan at 11pm. I'm wondering if SAF is really sending him there for reservist or to protect Ah Bian (Taiwan's president) as the Taiwanese are beginning their 'dao(2) bian(2)' activtity today !

His departure also marks the beginning of my bachelorette days ! And that's 3 weeks in total !

WAH HA HA HA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not that I will miss my 'ang', it's juz that sometimes it's nice to be alone and do the things you want. I'm quite an indepent person to the verge of being anti-social at times........ But separation will make the hearts fonder, right? :>

Okie....I'm going to but tkts for Forbidden City with my galfrens ! Hee hee, and looking excitedly forward to see my idol Hossan Leong and new idol - Sebastian Tan - the Broadway Beng !

Keep you posted on my tkt purchase later !
