Inaugural Networking Session

Our 'baby' was finally borned on 7th June. The inaugural event organised by us, a wing from the trade association. We got the turnout as we have predicted and as usual, no-shows was high. This is the norm for our industry, sad to say. However, the trade people was reserved, though this is a networking session. The sad thing is many left early which we were pretty disappointed......

Probably students haven't had much chance to attend such 'party' & are younger, they are enthusiatic !

I'm not pushing the blame to the trade people...c'mon.... We realised our mistake for not keeping the crowd together. The sound system was a total disaster. People at the back couldn't hear us.....& therefore, they couldn't engage. While I waited until 8pm (i'm at registration)to mingle, I failed too ..... that's something I regetted not being too open to the 'strangers'.

I also disappointed by the lack of support from the secretariat of the association. No one came to lend us out support. the invited guests disappeared without saying anything. We don't even know when they left. However, we are extremely grateful to our dstinguished guest who stayed almost to the end. He was a newly raised prominent person in the public community now and we are so appreciated by his attendance to grace our event. He even wrote a 'thank you' note to us and that's very sweet and polite from a importnant public figure.

The next person whom we are very grateful too is the pillar of our wing, a 'high ranking' person on the executive committe of the association. He stayed till the last guest left, encouraged us by saying the show went on well and we did a good job though all of us can see the 'results'.We are thoroughly at least motivated there's someone who lend us and show us the support we realy need.

Next in the house, a holiday trip !
